AKTU admissions to various UG programmes are offered based on CUET UG scores. The exams have already concluded and the results are expected to be released on June 30, 2024. Candidates who secure valid marks will be eligible to participate in UPTAC 2024 conducted by AKTU.
AKTU offers UG, PG, and, PhD courses in the disciplines of technology, pharmacy, architecture, management, etc. The university was previously known as the Uttar Pradesh Technical University and it has more than 750 colleges affiliated with it at present. The AKTU admission criteria for its flagship course, B.Tech, is based on the JEE Mains ranks followed by UPTAC Counselling. For various other UG and PG courses, candidates must qualify for the CUET UG and PG exams respectively and clear the counselling rounds conducted by AKTU.
The AKTU admission procedure varies for the UG, PG, and, PhD courses. The details about the admission process of the university are mentioned below.
For admission to B.Tech and B.Arch courses at AKTU and the affiliated colleges, students need to register themselves on Uttar Pradesh Technical Admission Counselling (UPTAC) portal. It must be noted that the B.Tech admission is based on JEE Main, while the admission to B.Arch courses is done through NATA. It is mandatory for the aspirants to appear for NATA and JEE Main first if they seek admission in these respective courses. Some other courses at the UG level are based on merit in the qualifying examination, while a few UG courses are on the basis of CUET UG. For AKTU admission through JEE Mains, candidates must secure a good rank in the examination.
Admission to some of the postgraduate courses is based on CUET PG, while a few courses offer seats to eligible students on the basis of merit of the qualifying exam. Only for MBA, the admissions are determined by the CMAT, CAT, MAT, ATMA or XAT scores.
Admission to the PhD programme is accomplished through a written entrance exam, followed by an interview round. The final merit list takes into account the candidates' performance in the written test and interview, as well as their previous qualifying examination marks. Students will be chosen based on their performance in the written test, followed by an interview and a presentation.
AKTU only offers PhD admission once a year in the July or August session. Students can apply both online and offline. The AKTU application form for offline mode can be downloaded from the official website. The application form must be completed and sent to the AKTU address along with all required documentation. Students can directly fill out and pay the desired application fee when using an online application form. The final application form received may be confirmed by the University's screening committee, which is chaired by the Vice-Chancellor.
