About Karnatak University

Karnatak University is a public state university in Dharwad, Karnataka, India. The university was established through the Karnatak University Act 1949, passed by the Bombay legislature of the former Bombay Presidency. Karnatak University Dharwad is accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with an "A" grade. The university has a sprawling campus of 888 acres, 51 PG Departments, 154 teachers, and 4500 students. Karnatak University has three postgraduate campuses: Haveri, Gadag, and Karwar. There are five constituent colleges that offer undergraduate and graduate programmes in science, arts, commerce, fine arts, law, and education. There are a total of 21 hostels, which include a working women's hostel and ladies hostels. These offer 2,600 undergraduate and postgraduate students residential accommodations. Karnatak University has 250 affiliated colleges to it.
