Amazon Future Engineer Scholarship

Amazon Future Engineer Scholarship 2025 is a flagship initiative by Amazon, aimed at empowering underprivileged and marginalised communities by increasing access to computer science education and STEM opportunities. Implemented in collaboration with the Foundation for Excellence (FFE), a nonprofit organisation dedicated to supporting academically exceptional but economically disadvantaged students, this program creates pathways for bright young minds to achieve their career aspirations.

The scholarship offers financial assistance of INR 50,000 annually to selected students until they complete their bachelor’s degree. The renewal of the scholarship is subject to recipients maintaining full-time enrollment in a recognized four-year degree program, sustaining good academic standing, and adhering to Amazon’s decision to continue the program. The initial selection includes approximately 500 AFE scholars, with the potential for future expansion.

In addition to financial support, Amazon provides mentorship, skill development programs, networking opportunities, and the chance to apply for internships at Amazon. Aligned with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG 4) to promote inclusive and equitable education, the AFE Scholarship primarily benefits first-generation learners, particularly girls, enabling them to pursue engineering, computer science, and related fields.

Candidates for the AFE - FFE Scholarship must be Indian citizens and meet the eligibility requirements listed below. 

Academic Eligibility

• Scholarships are only available to female students doing BE / B.Tech programs in the following branches: 
  • Computer Science And Engineering
  • Information And Communication Technology
  • Information Science
  • Information Science And Engineering
  • Information Technology
• Only candidates from the first year of BE / B.Tech course.
• Preference will be given to those pursuing Computer Science (CS) and Information Technology (IT) streams.
• Applicants who have cleared their Higher Secondary / Pre-University / Intermediate / CBSE/ISC Or Equivalent Board Qualifying Examination after 2022 or later.
• The admission process to the professional degree courses / institutions is based on the rank secured by the candidates in the entrance exam or through the counselling process conducted at the state level.

Financial Eligibility

• Annual income should be less than INR 3.0 lakh.

Other Important Eligibility Conditions

• For the purpose of determining a candidate's financial eligibility, factors such as gross family income, parents' education and employment status, the standard of living of the family, and the total amount spent by the family on the applicant's education will all be taken into account.
• First-generation graduates of the family will be given preference over those who are the family's second or third graduate.

• In the “Scholarship and Internship” section, candidates are required to click on the “Apply Now” tab available on the homepage.
• Candidates are required to fill in all the important information pertaining to educational details, personal details and financial details.
• Next, applicants have to upload all the required documents.
• After uploading all the necessary documents, candidates are able to preview the form, sign a declaration and submit it.

• Class 10 and Class 12 Marksheet
• Bonafide Certificate from College
• Rank Card
• Counselling Letter for Allotted Seat
• Family Income Certificate or Salary Slip (for 3 months) or IT Return Form
• Tuition/Hostel/Mess paid receipts
• Statement of estimated expenses from college
• Bank passbook copy for bank account details confirmation
• E-Aadhaar or scanned copy of original aadhar card of the applicant

Any student, preferably a girl, may apply for this AFE-FFE scholarship regardless of caste, community, or religion. The selection process of candidates for the AFE - FFE Scholarship is done by Foundation for Excellence.

• Following the determination of a student's eligibility, they are assigned to one of the 27-state distributed networks of volunteer "Facilitators" operated by FFE. 
• To assess the sincerity of need and economic difficulty, facilitators digitally contact the potential student or their family members.
• Students can submit the application form online for the AFE-FFE Scholarship program once their family background and academic records have been verified.
• AFE-FFE scholars who have been shortlisted must submit the essay specified in the application.
• The FFE scholarship program follows a reimbursement approach because applicants have already incurred expenditures when they first apply for a scholarship.
