Utility Centre

The Utility Centre run by the Entrepreneurial Development Cell of the college sells stationery and snacks at a reasonable price to benefit the college community. The centre functions during the break and after college.

Parking

The College also provides ample parking space for students and staff vehicles.

Differently-Abled Students' Cell

The Cell attempts to make life on campus comfortable for its members. Faculty-in-charge interacts with members to assess their needs and provide support services.

Foreign Students' Cell

The Foreign Students' Cell aims to facilitate smooth adaptation of foreign and NRI students to life in Chennai and in the college. Staff-in-charge organizes orientation programmes to enlighten the group on the regional and local culture, language, clothes, food and transportation. The cell also attempts to sensitize Indian students on the same issues related to the other group in order to create an atmosphere of bonhomie and alleviate homesickness. Periodic meetings, cultural and orientation programmes are organized in the campus to help achieve these goals.

Women's Cell

The college has a Women's Cell, with faculty and student representatives, which caters to the needs of all women members of the institution. The cell addresses issues pertaining to women [including sexual harassment], helps women with difficulties faced on the campus, conducts awareness programmes to highlight problems faced by them and sensitizes male members on gender issues.

 

Chapel

The serene chapel serves as a centre for worship, prayer and enquiry. Chapel services are open to everyone, and all are welcome to use the Chapel for meditation and prayer.

The Youth Red Cross Unit of the College is affiliated to the Indian Red Cross Society and membership is open to all students. Blood donation camps and awareness programmes are organized in the College by the Red Cross Society regularly.

The Red Ribbon Club of the college plays a major role in awareness programmes on AIDS and other important issues on and off campus. Volunteers regularly donate blood in response to calls from hospitals in and around Chennai. Members of the RRC initiated the formation of a Blood Bank to meet emergency requirements of the public.

The College has a contingent of 50 cadets under the guidance of a trained Officer of the rank of Lieutenant. Parades, camps and training for RDC selection are some of the routine activities. The NCC unit marches ahead in training citizenship and leadership qualities and inculcating a spirit of service and patriotism.

In keeping with the service aspect of the college Motto – Seek, Share, Serve, the NSS unit of the college has been engaged in extending services to the community.

NSS volunteers undertake Community Welfare, Environmental and Tutoring activities in the villages and schools adopted by the college. The college in association with World Networking Services [WNS], a multi-National Company in Chennai, set up a computer lab and library in the adopted school. The college also monitors the computer training of the school children. The NSS unit of the college was awarded the Appreciation Award for NSS initiative in the Kaitharikku Kaikoduppom project by the University of Madras in 2011.
