A college cultural team under the name of ‘Annai Kalai Siragugal’ has been formed and they excel in traditional fine arts such as Paraiattam, Karakam and Silambam etc. The Director of Physical Education and Cultural coordinator identify the young talents in sports and cultural fields. Training camps are conducted for cultural activity with tie-up with the dance school at Kumbakonam. Students are encouraged to participate in cultural activities conducted at other colleges. The Committee under a Cultural Co-Ordinator, consists of several student representatives and faculty with taste for cultural activities. The Committee plans intra-campus cultural programmes and in the process, it selects the best in the cultural department. This select team is permitted to participate in inter-campus cultural competitions.
The College has a special arrangement for women from the Muslim Minority Community who are admitted into various programmes that are offered by our College. The College joins hands with Kumbakonam Islamic Welfare Association (KISWA) and Rajagiri - Pandaravadai International Association, NGO’s in Kumbakonam for the promotion of women education. Free and fee concession, are offered depending on the economics status of the student. A Separate hostel for women was constructed with the aid provided by Moulana Azad Foundation, New Delhi.
Several measures were adopted for providing hassle-free education to the economically challenged sections of the society. One such measure is the Creation of Annai New Revolution, a student-student support program where the students themselves contribute Rs.1 to 10 daily for the payment of course fee for the economically needy students.
The K.K.O. Mohamed Ibrahim Education and Charitable Trust, which runs the College, offers Scholarships for nearly 200 students annually and supports the education of the economically challenged sectors of the society.
Tie-up with KISWA, DISHA Trust also help the weaker sections of students.
Students with remarkable achievements at school at zonal and district level competitions are given preference in admission for the courses they opt for and waiver in course fee is also given according to their economic status. Free accommodation and food, support materials for sport activities are provided free of cost in order to encourage them.
