Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani (BITS Pilani) is Covered with wooded paths and spread over 328 acres, the campus is self contained and houses all the amenities and buildings that befit an institute of international standards. The programmes are fully residential with 11 hostels for boys and one hostel complex for girls. Around 4500 students live on campus along with 350 faculty members, their family and a vast pool of support staff.
The campus also boasts of a magnificent library complex with a floor area of 65,000 sq. ft and a rich collection of about 2,30,000 volumes of books and manuscripts.
An intellectual powerhouse, the campus has successfully attracted healthy amounts of research funding from government grants and private bodies. The research facilities are wide ranging, with a number of laboratories focussed on all aspects of science and technology. The campus boasts of a state-of-the art network that provides connectivity to the entire institute.
The Institute is fully residential and hostel accommodation is provided to all students. Permission to become day-scholar may be granted only under exceptional circumstances where student's parents or close relatives are residents of Pilani. There are eleven hostels for boys and one hostel complex for girls. The hostel rooms are fully furnished. Common room facilities with Cable TV and telephone are available in each hostel. Internet connectivity has been provided in all hostel rooms. Solar water heating systems are provided in all the hostels.
There is a common kitchen cum mess unit for every set of two boys' hostels. Girls' hostel, however, has a separate mess of its own, situated within the boundary of the hostel. It is mandatory for the students staying in the hostel to have their food in the Hostel Messes. The messes attached to hostels are fully managed by the students.
Health club is equipped with advanced exercising machines for weight training and aerobic exercise floor. A 25 x 12.5 m swimming pool provides facility for learning swimming, playing water polo and racing. Students can become members of Swimming Club/Health Club on payment of prescribed fees.
While the actual management of student activities is the responsibility of the Union & other bodies, the Division provides necessary support. The Students’ Union operates various clubs, including Music, Dance, Hindi Drama, English Drama, Hindi Press, English Press, Creative Activities, Mime, Photography, and Poetry Clubs, English Language Activities Society, and Hindi Activities Society. There are also several departments, which help organize various student events.
Traditionally students organize OASIS, a cultural festival sometime during the days adjoining Dussehra or Diwali. The students also organize A Professions-Oriented Gathering over Educational Experience (APOGEE), an Academic Week during the Second Semester, which may be aptly described as the academic get-together of the University Youth.
A classical music circle called 'Ragamalika' aims at encouraging budding talent among the students in music and dance. It also arranges performances by leading artists in the field of classical music and dance. In addition there is also a BITS Pilani Chapter of SPIC-MACAY, which organizes programmes to promote Indian classical music and culture amongst youth.
BITS being an all-India Institute, there are also regional associations like Maurya Vihar, Sangam, Andhra Samiti, Tamil Mandram, Maharashtra Mandal, Moru Chhaya etc. conducting several special programmes on festivals.
Recreational Activity Forum (RAF) that comes under the Student Welfare Division regularly organizes film shows for the BITS community. Currently, RAF organizes twelve, English and Hindi movies each, through the semester.
Infrastructure: Interesting to raise this institute.Is average buildings are not very much creatively made?They are good area for sports.Is there area for library is there but little congested
Hostel: Hostile facility is average in nature.It is congested because of the number of students are more than the number of rooms.Available label food quality is really nice.And hygiene is maintained here
Infrastructure: The institute has very large campus with a large Building, a play ground, a canteen and hostels. The campus is full with greenery and has peaceful climate.
Hostel: There are six boys hostels and two girls hostel. Hostel service are nice. Rooms are given with one bed ,chair and table,a cuboard,and a shelf.2 students per room are allotted.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure here is very good,we have a very big library,big lecture halls and we too have a all sports ground that include almost all sports and we have the great clock tower that is the pride of bits..
Hostel: Hostels over here are also very good we have separate hostel for both boys and girls. We have sharing room in 1 and 2 year and we have single room from 3 year onwards.We have one fans in our rooms and a study table and a bed.
Infrastructure: The latest addition to the campus, the new acad block comprises modern infrastructure as well as fully air conditioned classrooms and labs. There are also attractions such as a life size chess courtyard, rock gardens in the acad block, and the new football ground, swimming pool, sac (student activity centre), basketball and tennis courts, and more. The campus is also surrounded by and full of greenery and flowers. There are also facilities for grocery shopping, fresh vegetables and fruits shopping, laundry, on campus restaurants, stationary, and salons in cp (cannought place).
Hostel: The hostel rooms are clean. Each room consists of a fan, two cots, two sets of desk with chair, two almirahs, and place for storage in the walls. The first and second years are to share their room with one roommate, and from third year on, single rooms are provided. There are in total 9 boys' hostels and 3 gurls' hostels.
Infrastructure: I myself is pursuing civil enggg.So i can tell infrastructure is really good and upto the mark.well maintained floors and clean campus provide the children with a healthy atmosphere. There are trees everywhere making it really worth it.
Hostel: There are very few college whose hostels are really good. Our campus is one among them.Well maintained washroom to clean corridors really make it worth the experience. We have single occupancy and double occupancy rooms in the hostels.Rooms are spacious for an individual and environment is really friendly.
Infrastructure: BITS Pilani Hyderabad has a spacious and well-equipped campus with modern classrooms, labs, libraries, and sports facilities. They offer a variety of sports including football and squash.
Hostel: Overall, the hostels are good. The junior hostels are well-maintained, but the hostels for 2nd year and above students are slightly unclean. However, they are not too bad.
Infrastructure: The library is fully air conditioned with 450 seating capacity. the institute is fully residential and hostel accomodation is provided to all the students. There are 6 hostels for boys and two hostels for girls. The campus is fully of greenary and peaceful climate.
Hostel: There are six boys hostels and two girls hostel. Girls ratio is very less compared to bays ratio. So they we have only two hostels for girls. Maintenance is very good.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is accele and the classes that were conducted in the classroom we also very good teachers for also very good and overall infrastructure of BITS Pilani is very good like the offer you with a lot of new things to be learn and grab your knowledge and to increase or knowledge
Hostel: Hotel facility depends on student to student have not living in hostel but my friends live in hostel there they describe that hostels are good but it depends or your money because you can take a lower class hostel as well as a higher class hostel
