Should have completed 17 years of age and not exceeding 28 years on or before 31st December of the year of admission. Passed two-years pre-university examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, English and one vernacular language with minimum of 50% aggregate marks for General and 40% or more aggregate marks for ST/SC and Physically challenged candidates. Female Indian candidates only. A domicile certificate of continuous 5 years stay in West Bengal on the date of application. Should be medically fit. Candidates shall be admitted for the degree of Master of Science in Nursing if she fulfills the following requirements:
B.Sc. degree in Nursing or the B.Sc. (Hons.) degree in Nursing from any University recognized by Indian Nursing Council and the West Bengal University of Health Sciences. Two years of experience as per INC Criteria after attaining the above degree. The degree of the candidate must be registered with West Bengal Nursing Council or any other state Nursing Council. The candidates seeking admission for specialization in 'Obstetrical nursing', 'Community health nursing' and 'Maternal & child health nursing' shall be a registered mid-wife, whereas for other specialties, the candidate shall be a registered nurse. The candidates will be admitted to M. Sc. Nursing courses in accordance to the provisions of the Statute of the University of Health Sciences, which will be in force from time to time. The following criteria will be applied to foreign students seeking admission to M. Sc. Nursing courses: The degree of the candidate must be registered with Indian Nursing Council. The candidates must have no objection certificates from the Ministry of External Affairs, Govt. of India and Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India. The candidates must have permission of the University of Health Sciences and have proper migration certificate. They may be admitted in Supernumerary seats with prior permission of the University of Health Sciences and the Government provided the rules of the Indian Nursing Council permits. The candidates, selected for admission in M.Sc.Nursing course by the University, shall have to submit a medical fitness certificate from a physician and to be submitted to the principal of the concerned institution. Admission of the candidate after selected by the University shall have to be conducted by the principal of the concerned college.
Registered Nurse and midwife or its equivalent with 1 year experience preferably. Nurses' From other countries must submit their records of their basic training, qualification and experience to the INC and obtain an equivalent certificate for admission to this course.
