The University of Nebraska, US, has come forward to give scholarships to Gitam University students under the Nebraska Advantage Scholarship program, said Prof Patrick McNamara, director of international studies at the University of Nebraska. He made the announcement during his visit to Gitam on Wednesday.
Prof McNamara also signed an MoU along with Gitam University Registrar Prof M Potharaju in the presence of Gitam vice-chancellor Prof G Subrahmanayam.
Gitam Institute of Management (GIM) in-charge principal Prof P Sheela said that the present MoU facilitates student and faculty exchange and joint research programs. She also mentioned that the Nebraska University has decided to accept four students of BBA/IMBA to study MBA there, which is against the usual requirement of 16 years of education for studying MBA in USA. She said that the students of BBA or IMBA, after completing one year MBA in GIM with stipulated score in GMAT or GRE and TOEFL, are eligible to study second year MBA in University of Nebraska to receive MBA from UNO under Nebraska Advantage Scholarship.
