K J Somaiya Institute of Management Studies & Research (SIMSR) is nestled in a 60-acre campus and spread across two spacious, well-furnished buildings covering an area of 150,000 sq. feet which are surrounded by the lush green garden. The college consists of ac classrooms, multiple seminar halls, conference rooms, student discussion rooms, wi-fi, amphitheatre& state of the art auditorium. Apart from that, the college has a well-equipped library with over 90,000 books on a wide range of management subjects and also subscribes to 15 different newspapers, 60+ National and International periodicals.

SIMSR provides separate hostels for girls and boys, namely,maitreyi and sandipani respectively. The hostel is well equipped with facilities like internet, laundromat, student mess, activity room and a well-equipped gym. In terms of medical facilities, highly trained and experienced doctors are available on campus. There is a well-equipped medical room in a hostel and regular medical checkups of student are to done to assure they are mentally and physically fit. Staying healthy helps students to maximize their educational experience at SIMSR and gives them a competitive edge to the campus provides a variety of sports facilities like running track, live chess court, football ground, cricket ground, badminton court, basketball court, volleyball court, tennis court, table tennis room, squash court, etc.

In addition to the regular academic activities, the college organizes a number of events with the help of and for students under the guidance of the seniors. Some of these events areSpriha, Saavesh, National retail summit(NRS), Comstrat, Resolution, SGMC, Stratinova, Navikaranetc and these events help in the holistic development of the students as the students work right from organising the event to executing it.

The institute offers in-campus separate hostel facilities for boys and girls of all the Post-Graduate Diploma in Management Programmes. The hostel offers 660 beds and 20 faculty residences. An additional hostel is under construction. The hostel is well equipped with all modern facilities including 24x7 Internet facilities, Laundromats, student mess and gymnasium.

Enactus, Entrepreneurship Action and Us, is an international network of students, academia and business leaders committed to the cause of bringing betterment to the society. Enactus SOMAIYA, the Enactus team of K. J. Somaiya Institute of Management Studies & research, came into being in 2004. The whole idea of Enactus is to serve the underprivileged not by helping them financially but by instilling the spirit of entrepreneurship in them.

Interface is the marketing committee of SIMSR and is a completely student driven body, guided by faculty mentors who have unrivalled industry experience in marketing. It strives to cultivate an environment that helps inculcate passion for the field of Marketing and promote it as a challenging career option. It gives a platform to marketing enthusiasts where they can nourish their marketing skills and whet their appetite for learning in a continuous process of learning and application. Our members endeavour to work closely with students, faculty, alumni and marketing executives in order to expand the scope of learning beyond the classroom and enrich the overall SIMSR experience for students wanting to pursue a future in the marketing.

FINSTREET, the finance committee at SIMSR has been a platform serving to initiate interest and further student participation in finance. The major focus is to create value for students at SIMSR in the fields of finance and economics.

Forum of Operations Research and Supply Chain Enthusiasts - FORSE, is the Operations Committee of K J SIMSR. Operations Management, in spite of being one of the core subjects of management studies remains a neglected one, with few students opting to undertake this specialisation. FORSE was established to change this scenario.

In the present dynamic business scenario where knowledge is both a product and a tool, success requires strong interdisciplinary skills. Acumen is ability to ride this beast colloquially referred to as ‘General Knowledge’, an essential requirement of the modern day workplace. This knowledge coupled with an understanding of how businesses and organizations run at every level, facilitates the ability to make good judgments and quick decisions. Acumen, the quizzing and debating society aims to provide a platform for improving general awareness and development of soft skills.

The Sports Committee has been an integral part of SIMSR and helps to create the brand SIMSR in field of Sports/Games among the other reputed B-Schools. Sports and games teach you intricacies of management in no time. A game of 20 minutes can give you practical experience of leadership, team building, stress management, quick decision making and conflict management.

In this competitive world, everyone is running after economic prosperity, thinking of it as a way to happy life, ignoring the personal and social crisis which it has led to. The Gita club committee of SIMSR is there to explore the wisdom which, for ages, has been hidden in the golden pages of our Bhagavad Gita, and to apply that knowledge in the real world, as it is important for the wholesome development of all individuals.
