Chandigarh University has clinched the Overall Champion title at the 38th AIU Inter-University National Youth Festival. The university’s students delivered a stellar performance, winning 11 Gold, 4 Silver, and 2 Bronze Medals, along with multiple top finishes across categories. The university secured 1st place overall in Literary events and 2nd place in Theatre, Music, and Dance. Notable victories included 1st position in Procession, Cartooning, Rangoli, Western Vocal Solo, Western Instrumental, Group Song Western, Folk Dance, Elocution, Debate, Skit, and Mime.

Further adding to the accolades, CU bagged 2nd place in Non-Percussion, Folk Orchestra, Classical Dance, and One-Act Play, while also earning podium finishes in other musical categories. Shri Satnam Singh Sandhu, Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) and Chancellor of Chandigarh University, praised the students’ efforts, stating, “This victory is a testament to our students' dedication, creativity, and hard work. Recently, Chandigarh University's University School of Business (USB) launched the Bajaj Finserv Certificate Programme in Banking, Finance, and Insurance (CPBFI) - a joint initiative by Chandigarh University and Bajaj Finserv. This certificate program in Banking, Finance, and Insurance aims to empower first-generation graduates and undergraduates from smaller towns and rural areas by equipping them with the right aptitude and attitude for a strong career in the financial services industry. 

Moreover, this 100-hour virtual online program covers various capabilities, such as Self-management and confidence, workplace communication skills, understanding of banking products and services, understanding of Insurance products and operations, customer interaction skills, and Interview-facing skills. Alongside, this certificate program prepares students to start their careers in Banking and Finance. Additionally, this training program earns them a certification from NIIT-IFBI. Apart from this, CPBFI is a perfect virtual program that helps students develop skills, learn from industry experts, and earn an industry-recognized certificate from NIIT-IFBI. Chandigarh University (CU) has once again asserted its cultural dominance by winning the Overall Trophy at the 38th AIU Inter-University North Zone Youth Festival 2025, held at Panjab University, Chandigarh. This marks CU's fourth overall championship in the North Zone and qualifies the university for the AIU National Youth Festival 2025, scheduled from March 3 to 7. Competing against 962 students from 21 universities, CU’s 49-member contingent delivered an outstanding performance across categories such as music, theatre, fine arts, literature, and dance, securing 26 victories. The university clinched 8 first positions, 5 second positions, and 7 third positions, winning 1st overall in Theatre, Dance, and Literature, 2nd in Music, and 3rd in Fine Arts and Procession. Chandigarh University continues its exceptional legacy, especially in the Theatre Division, where it has now won the overall trophy for six consecutive years. Notably, CU students also lifted the One-Act Play trophy for the eighth year in a row. The 2025 trophy was received by students alongside Jai Inder Singh Sandhu, Managing Director of CU, and Dr. Devinder Singh, Pro-Vice Chancellor, during the award ceremony.

Four talented Computer Science Engineering (CSE) students from Chandigarh University have secured prestigious internships. They got internships at leading tech companies with impressive stipends. Out of the four CSE students of CU Chandigarh, David Goyal and Aryan Aggarwal got internships at PayPal. They both will receive Rs 1,00,000 per month stipend. At the same time, Harleen Kaur landed an opportunity at ServiceNow with a stipend of Rs 89,000 per month. Lastly, Jashanpreet Singh of Chandigarh University secured an internship at Amazon, with Rs 1,10,000 per month.

MBA Business Analytics student Rishab and MBA Healthcare & Hospital Management student Rahul both begin their professional journeys on a high note.

Chandigarh University is proud to announce the exceptional placement achievements of two MBA students, Rishab and Rahul. These talented individuals, specialising in MBA Business Analytics and MBA Healthcare & Hospital Management, have secured placements at the globally renowned Indicaa Group Limited with a lucrative package of Rs 20 LPA. Three Chandigarh University students - Raj Angad Bawa, Vaibhav Arora, and Arshdeep Singh have been selected for different IPL teams in the upcoming 2025 IPL season. Prominent IPL team Mumbai Indians have bought Raj Angad Bawa during the IPL auction. Raj Angad Bawa is an all-rounder who has been auctioned for Rs 30 lakhs. 

Vaibhav Arora is a right-arm fast bowler from Chandigarh University who has been selected by Kolkata Knight Riders during the IPL 2025 auction. KKR has bought Vaibhav Arora for a whopping Rs 1.8 crore! Lastly, Arshdeep Singh was bought by Punjab Kings for an astonishing amount of Rs 18 crore for the IPL 2025 season. Arshdeep Singh is a well-accomplished left-arm pacer from Chandigarh University. Chandigarh University has claimed the number one spot in India for the best private universities ranking by QS Asia Rankings 2025. CU Chandigarh has surpassed premier institutions like IITs and NITs in the latest ranking. As for the Asia-wide university ranking, the university now ranks 120th in 2025. The QS World University Rankings: Asia 2025 report, evaluated 6,278 universities across 25 countries on 11 performance indicators.

During the QS Asia Rankings 2025, India surpassed China and Japan in terms of representation in the QS rankings. In 2025, India 162 Indian Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs) featured in the ranking. Out of 162 HEIs, 21 were new entries from India. Chandigarh University was ranked 149th position in 2024 and it jumped to 120th position in 2025 within a year. CU has secured its place among the nation's top institutions, ranking first among India’s private universities and 11th overall nationwide. 

In the QS Asia Ranking 2025, CU scored 90.5 in Employer Reputation, 72.4 in International Faculty Ratio, 55.9 in International Research Network, 54.4 in International Student Ratio, 54.2 in Academic Reputation, and 52.9 in Faculty-Student Ratio.

Chandigarh University will host the 4th Global Education Summit (GES) 2024 from October 3rd to 5th, 2024. Over 70 academic leaders from 55 countries will participate in this summit. Through this platform, presidents, vice-chancellors, rectors, and senior officials from more than 55 top-ranked foreign universities will collaborate and discuss the future of higher education. Chandigarh University student Bhajan Kaur qualifies for the Paris Olympics 2024 in Archery. Kaur clinched the gold medal at the World Cup Qualifiers, defeating top seed Mobina Fallah of Iran. Kaur showed an exceptional performance at the World Cup Qualifiers, dominating the last round by straight sets 6-2 (28-26, 29-29, 29-26, 29-29). Chandigarh University has proudly announced that its undergraduate engineering programmes have been re-accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) under Tier-I for the academic years 2024-25 to 2026-27. Chandigarh University student, Nikhil, has emerged as a rising star in Indian boxing, securing a gold medal at the ASBC Asian Junior Boys Boxing Championship 2023 in Astana, Kazakhstan. The 19-year-old Patiala resident has been honing his skills at the university, which is known for nurturing sporting talent. Despite his humble background, with his father working in the private sector and his mother a homemaker, Nikhil has made significant strides in the national boxing arena, winning five gold medals in various national championships. He is a two-time National Junior Champion in the 52 weight category and a three-time champion in the 57 weight category. In 2022, Nikhil also won a bronze medal at the 40th Golden Glove of the Vojvodina Youth Boxing Tournament in Serbia. Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts at Chandigarh University, Nikhil has been boxing for eight years and is training in Pune for the upcoming ASBC Asian U22 and Youth Boxing Championships in Astana.

Chandigarh University held its annual convocation on June 9th 2023 and the chief guest for this programme was former President of India Ram Nath Kovind. More than 1400 students were awarded undergraduate, postgraduate, and PhD degrees during the annual convocation out of them 45% are women. Further to this, 35 students have been conferred Gold Medals. Out of them 22 were girls and 13 were boys.

Chandigarh University placement 2023 for Chemical Engineering is ongoing. 5 students from the Chemical Engineering branch were placed at renowned organisations with the help of faculty and training and placement cell at the University.

Chandigarh University placement 2023 -24 is continuing at present. Like every year this year blue-chip companies have also shown a keen interest in hiring students across multiple departments. This year a total of 101 students from the MCA department got placement so far out of them 24 MCA students specialized in Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning. These students have secured good placements with leading multinational companies.

The main aim of the conference is to formulate the roadmap and future direction for India’s efforts at attaining the global targets for environmental protection and climate change. For the inaugural ceremony, Vice President of India, Shri Muppavarapu Venkaiah Naidu will be present as the Chief Guest on May 7th, Saturday. The inauguration event will also be attended by the Governor of Punjab, and Administrator, UT Chandigarh, Shri Banwarilal Purohit, while Shri Bhupender Yadav, Union Cabinet Minister for Environment, Forest & Climate Change will be the Chief Guest at the Valedictory Ceremony on Sunday, May 8th.

Chandigarh University Debuts in QS World University Rankings

After making its debut in the QS Asia Rankings and upgrading its NIRF ranking, Chandigarh University has now made a remarkable debut in the latest edition of the world’s most-consulted university ranking, the QS World University Rankings. The University has been ranked in 4th position as per the latest edition of QS World University Rankings by Subject among all the private universities in India and among the Top 20 HEIs in India including both Public and Private. Not only this but with the distinct ranking of various categories, CU has been included in the top private university in India under the Global Employer Reputation Category. Chandigarh University Offers Specialization Course in Cloud Computing With Virtusa

Chandigarh University has become one of the very few Universities in Punjab to offer a specialization course in Cloud Computing with IT Giant, Virtusa. The University offers a Cloud Computing specialization course with Virtusa through its ME CSE program. The course covers all the major aspects of Cloud Computing including Cloud Architecture, Virtualisation, Principles, Analysis, Modeling, Deployment, Design, and Industry-Oriented Applications. Chandigarh University Breaks into the #271-280 Rank Category in the QS Asia University Rankings 2023

Chandigarh University has added another feather in its cap by breaking into the #271-280 rank category of the recently released QS Asia University Rankings list. In doing so, Chandigarh University has become Asia's youngest university to gallop into any QS Asia University Rankings list. The current rank of CU in the QS Asia University Rankings 2023 places it with the top 1.7% universities in the Asian continent. Notably, the varsity also ranks among the top 10 self-financing or private Indian universities. The university has also fared well in the other aspects of QS Asia University Rankings 2023 like academic reputation, employer reputation, international faculty, international students, student exchange (inbound & outbound) and so on. Chandigarh University Signs MoU with the Education Division of Taipei Economic and Cultural Centre in India 

Chandigarh University (CU), well-known for having the highest number of international partners in education has signed an academic MoU with the  Education Divison of Taipei Economic & Cultural Centre in India. The Taipei Economic & Cultural Centre, India is the representative office of Taiwan in the country and also acts as a de facto embassy. The MoU was signed in the presence of CU management and the delegation from Taiwan's representative office. The MoU will help the students get familiar with new and possible opportunities. Chandigarh University Student Becomes First Indian Entry in Para-Taekwondo at Tokyo Paralympics

Chandigarh University has achieved a bigger milestone, as one of its students Aruna Tanwar becomes the first Indian entry in Para-Taekwondo at Tokyo Paralympics that are scheduled to be held from August 24 to September 5. Aruna Ranwar is already a two-time World Champion who hailed from a Haryanvi Village, Dinod. Despite having three fingers in each hand and arms not fully formed, Aruna Tanwar had a keenness in athletics martial arts. The 21-year-old Aruna is world No. 4 in the Women's U-49 category. Tanwar went onto winning medals in a string of international events, including a Silver medal in the 2018 Asian Para-Taekwondo Championship in Vietnam and Bronze at the World Championship in Antalya, Turkey. 

Chandigarh University Launches Satellite Designing Programme

Chandigarh University has launched the Student Satellite Designing and Training program ‘CUSAT’. The programme is exclusively for students in the field of aerospace engineering. As a part of the programme, the students will undergo training under the guidance of former Indian and international spaces scientists.

The inauguration of the programme was held virtually. Many renowned scientists and professionals of the respective field including ISRO Scientist Dr. YS Ranjan, Former ISRO Director M Vasagam, and Dr. Mylswamy Annadurai, Program Director of Chandrayaan-1 and Mangalyaan, also known as the Moon Man of India were a part of the virtual inauguration ceremony.

Chandigarh University is planning to design a multipurpose nano-satellite within 10-12 months which will be launched by the ISRO. University Chancellor Satnam Singh Sandhu informed that Rs. 1 crore will be spent for designing the satellite for which the training of students has already started.

Chandigarh University Students Placed in Zee Media, Placement Talk on 23rd April

Two graduates of Chandigarh University's Institute of Media Studies - Amritpal and Vishali have been placed in Zee Media, one of the leading and digital and mass media organizations. Recently, almost 5000 students of CU placed in several companies, and the highest salary went up to Rs. 35 Lakh per annum. Amritpal and Vishali will join a live session as a part of the Chandigarh University Placement Talk on Friday, April 23, 2021. The young journalists will share their success stories, and the event is being organized virtually. Chandigarh University has launched various AI specialisation UG and PG courses. Chandigarh University offers B.E CSE with specialisation in AI and Machine Learning. The AI course at university presents a robust foundation in the major AI technologies. The state-of-the-art industry-sponsored
labs like Microsoft Innovation Center and IBM Software Lab helps students to have practical experience. Admission to the bachelor's course in the university will be done on the basis of the CUCET entrance exam.

Chandigarh University Organizes International Webinar on Global Challenges of Modern Times

Chandigarh University has organized a one-of-its-kind and largest international webinar, which witnessed the participation of globally recognized legal professionals. The webinar had the participation of esteemed Judges from the Supreme Court of India. The webinar took place on January 30 & 31, 2021. The theme of this international webinar was 'Global Challenges of Modern Times', which is further divided into four topics. Faculty & students from a number of universities across the globe participated in the webinar. 

The morning session of the webinar took place from 9:30 AM to 11:55 AM, while the afternoon session took place from 2:50 PM to 4:50 PM.
