Chandigarh University has claimed the number one spot in India for the best private universities ranking by QS Asia Rankings 2025. CU Chandigarh has surpassed premier institutions like IITs and NITs in the latest ranking. As for the Asia-wide university ranking, the university now ranks 120th in 2025. The QS World University Rankings: Asia 2025 report, evaluated 6,278 universities across 25 countries on 11 performance indicators.

During the QS Asia Rankings 2025, India surpassed China and Japan in terms of representation in the QS rankings. In 2025, India 162 Indian Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs) featured in the ranking. Out of 162 HEIs, 21 were new entries from India. Chandigarh University was ranked 149th position in 2024 and it jumped to 120th position in 2025 within a year. CU has secured its place among the nation's top institutions, ranking first among India’s private universities and 11th overall nationwide. 

In the QS Asia Ranking 2025, CU scored 90.5 in Employer Reputation, 72.4 in International Faculty Ratio, 55.9 in International Research Network, 54.4 in International Student Ratio, 54.2 in Academic Reputation, and 52.9 in Faculty-Student Ratio.

Chandigarh University will host the 4th Global Education Summit (GES) 2024 from October 3rd to 5th, 2024. Over 70 academic leaders from 55 countries will participate in this summit. Through this platform, presidents, vice-chancellors, rectors, and senior officials from more than 55 top-ranked foreign universities will collaborate and discuss the future of higher education. The summit will focus on global collaborations for sustainability, innovative technologies for social welfare, and empowering students for sustainable development. Nobel Laureate Prof (Dr) G. (Gerard) 't Hooft will deliver the keynote address at the summit. These officials will come from more than 30 countries, including some of the most well-known ones such as the United States, United Kingdom, France, Canada, Italy, Australia, and South Africa, etc. The summit aims to foster international collaboration and shape the future of higher education.

Chandigarh University has achieved impressive results in The Week-Hansa Research Survey 2024. The university ranked 25th among all Multidisciplinary Universities in all India and 9th in the North zone. Chandigarh University student Bhajan Kaur qualifies for the Paris Olympics 2024 in Archery. Kaur clinched the gold medal at the World Cup Qualifiers, defeating top seed Mobina Fallah of Iran. Chandigarh University has proudly announced that its undergraduate engineering programmes have been re-accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) under Tier-I for the academic years 2024-25 to 2026-27. Chandigarh University student, Nikhil, has emerged as a rising star in Indian boxing, securing a gold medal at the ASBC Asian Junior Boys Boxing Championship 2023 in Astana, Kazakhstan. The 19-year-old Patiala resident has been honing his skills at the university, which is known for nurturing sporting talent. Despite his humble background, with his father working in the private sector and his mother a homemaker, Nikhil has made significant strides in the national boxing arena, winning five gold medals in various national championships. He is a two-time National Junior Champion in the 52 weight category and a three-time champion in the 57 weight category. In 2022, Nikhil also won a bronze medal at the 40th Golden Glove of the Vojvodina Youth Boxing Tournament in Serbia. Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts at Chandigarh University, Nikhil has been boxing for eight years and is training in Pune for the upcoming ASBC Asian U22 and Youth Boxing Championships in Astana.

Chandigarh University held its annual convocation on June 9th 2023 and the chief guest for this programme was former President of India Ram Nath Kovind. More than 1400 students were awarded undergraduate, postgraduate, and PhD degrees during the annual convocation out of them 45% are women. Further to this, 35 students have been conferred Gold Medals. Out of them 22 were girls and 13 were boys.  

While addressing the annual convocation, former President Ram Nath Kovind said, “Chandigarh University has built a good reputation as one of the premier institutions of India within a short span of 11 years, owing to which it has been ranked among the Top Universities of the World. 

Chandigarh University placement 2023 for Chemical Engineering is ongoing. 5 students from the Chemical Engineering branch were placed at renowned organisations with the help of faculty and training and placement cell at the University.

This year a total of 101 students from the MCA department got placement so far out of them 24 MCA students specialized in Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning. Chandigarh University Signs MoU with the Education Division of Taipei Economic and Cultural Centre in India 

Chandigarh University (CU), well-known for having the highest number of international partners in education has signed an academic MoU with the  Education Divison of Taipei Economic & Cultural Centre in India. The Taipei Economic & Cultural Centre, India is the representative office of Taiwan in the country and also acts as a de facto embassy. Chandigarh University Student Becomes First Indian Entry in Para-Taekwondo at Tokyo Paralympics

Chandigarh University has achieved a bigger milestone, as one of its students Aruna Tanwar becomes the first Indian entry in Para-Taekwondo at Tokyo Paralympics that are scheduled to be held from August 24 to September 5. Aruna Ranwar is already a two-time World Champion who hailed from a Haryanvi Village, Dinod. Despite having three fingers in each hand and arms not fully formed, Aruna Tanwar had a keenness in athletics martial arts. The 21-year-old Aruna is world No. 4 in the Women's U-49 category. Tanwar went onto winning medals in a string of international events, including a Silver medal in the 2018 Asian Para-Taekwondo Championship in Vietnam and Bronze at the World Championship in Antalya, Turkey. 

Chandigarh University Launches Satellite Designing Programme

Chandigarh University has launched the Student Satellite Designing and Training program ‘CUSAT’. The programme is exclusively for students in the field of aerospace engineering. As a part of the programme, the students will undergo training under the guidance of former Indian and international spaces scientists.

The inauguration of the programme was held virtually. Many renowned scientists and professionals of the respective field including ISRO Scientist Dr. YS Ranjan, Former ISRO Director M Vasagam, and Dr. Mylswamy Annadurai, Program Director of Chandrayaan-1 and Mangalyaan, also known as the Moon Man of India were a part of the virtual inauguration ceremony.

Chandigarh University is planning to design a multipurpose nano-satellite within 10-12 months which will be launched by the ISRO. University Chancellor Satnam Singh Sandhu informed that Rs. 1 crore will be spent for designing the satellite for which the training of students has already started.

Chandigarh University Students Placed in Zee Media, Placement Talk on 23rd April

Two graduates of Chandigarh University's Institute of Media Studies - Amritpal and Vishali have been placed in Zee Media, one of the leading and digital and mass media organizations. Recently, almost 5000 students of CU placed in several companies, and the highest salary went up to Rs. 35 Lakh per annum. Amritpal and Vishali will join a live session as a part of the Chandigarh University Placement Talk on Friday, April 23, 2021. Chandigarh University AI Specialisation Courses

Chandigarh University has launched various AI specialisation UG and PG courses. Chandigarh University offers B.E CSE with specialisation in AI and Machine Learning. The AI course at university presents a robust foundation in the major AI technologies. The state-of-the-art industry-sponsored
labs like Microsoft Innovation Center and IBM Software Lab helps students to have practical experience. Admission to the bachelor's course in the university will be done on the basis of the CUCET entrance exam.

Chandigarh University is organising an influencer talk with innovator Rishi Raj on 24th February at 6:00 pm. He is the third year CSE student of the university who will talk about creativity and how to turn ideas into reality. Rishabh Raj is an innovator by passion who already has 24+ Patents to his name. One of his many unique innovations has been a Keyboard designed to fit various different sizes.

The influencer talk will be held via various social medial handles of the university. It is a great opportunity for want to know how to bring ideas into application

Chandigarh University to conduct a live placement talk session with a Microsoft placed student Pranshu on 19th February 2021. The live session will be held at social media handles of the university. Chandigarh University CSE Student Pranshu who bagged a job opportunity from Microsoft will talk about the journey and will provide insights about the same. The live placement talk session will guide the students on how to secure a placement in top blue-chip companies.

CU has witnessed positive growth in its campus placement with a 60% surge this year. Many top-notch companies participate in the campus placement including  Microsoft, Deloitte, Amazon, Google, Walt Disney, IBM, Jet Airways, Vistara, Honda among others.

Chandigarh University is organizing a live interaction session with IAS Sonal Goel on February 02, 2021, from 4:30 PM. The session is being organized by the Digitech Department of ERP at Chandigarh University, and the major focus of the session will be on 'Learning with Blended Technology Resources and the Best Mentorship'. IAS Sonal Goel is a well-known TEDx Speaker and Top 25 Women Transforming India (as per Niti Agyog). She will be discussing 'Youth Role in Digital Era to Make Indian Global Superpower'. Chandigarh University Organizes International Webinar on Global Challenges of Modern Times

Chandigarh University has organized a one-of-its-kind and largest international webinar, which witnessed the participation of globally recognized legal professionals. The webinar had the participation of esteemed Judges from the Supreme Court of India. The webinar took place on January 30 & 31, 2021. The theme of this international webinar was 'Global Challenges of Modern Times', which is further divided into four topics. Faculty & students from a number of universities across the globe participated in the webinar. 

The morning session of the webinar took place from 9:30 AM to 11:55 AM, while the afternoon session took place from 2:50 PM to 4:50 PM.
