Students aspiring to seek admission to the college must clear NEET and should have obtained a score in the exam.
The counseling process is conducted by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on behalf of the Medical Counseling Committee (MCC).
Students must obtain a minimum percentage of marks in the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) conducted by the National Testing Agency.
For the Chettinad Academy of Research and Education MD Courses, the Compulsory Rotatory Residential Internship (CRRI) must have been satisfactorily completed on or before 31st March the previous year. Students who have completed their internship after 31st March of the previous year shall be intelligible to participate at any stage of the admission process.
The student must have studied and completed the MBBS Degree course from any recognized medical college included in the schedules to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956, and must have obtained a Registration Certificate permanent with the Medical Council of India or any other State Medical Councils.
As Chettinad Hospital and Research Institute is a constituent college under Chettinad Academy of Research and Education, deemed to be a university under section 3 of UGC Act 1956, admissions are made on an Indian basis and therefore candidates are belonging to any state/ union territory of India are eligible to apply for admission. There is no restriction based on domicile.
For the Chettinad Academy of Research and Education DM courses provided, a candidate must possess a degree in MD/MS or DNB from a university recognized by the Medical Council of India in the respective discipline.
All candidates seeking admission to the Medical and Surgical super-specialty courses in Chettinad Hospital and Research Institute under Chettinad Academy of Research and Education for the academic year shall have to qualify in the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test-SS (NEET-SS) for the respective year conducted by the National Board of Examination, New Delhi.
Candidates should have obtained the minimum prescribed marks in the qualifying examination as per the Medical Council of India norms.
Interested students who are aiming for MBBS must aim for a score of 400 in their NEET Examination to get a seat in Chettinad Academy of Research and Education admissions.
The Chettinad Entrance Aptitude Test (CEAT) is a critical assessment, therefore needs to be taken by the Chettinad Academy of Research and Education diligently by the students opting for the courses which require it.

In the case of a foreign national, the Medical Council of India may, on payment of the prescribed fee for registration, grant temporary registration, for the duration of the post-graduate course limited to the medical college, to which the candidate is admitted for the time being, exclusively for pursuing postgraduate studies.
Provided further the temporary registration of such foreign nationals shall be subject to the condition that such person is duly registered with appropriate registering authority in their own country, from where one has obtained a basic medical qualification and is duly recognized by the corresponding Medical Council or concerned authority.
Overseas citizens of India intending to pursue MBBS/ BDS from a foreign Medical/ Dental Institute also need to qualify NEET (UG).
Chettinad Academy of Research and Education admission to the MBBS degree course under the NRI quota shall come through MCC counseling.
The Chettinad Academy of Research and Education tuition fee for NRI candidates should be remitted in US Dollars only.

The Chettinad Academy of Research and Education admission process for the year 2023 has not started yet. The application process would start in July 2023 tentatively.
Reportedly, the last date of the admission process will be in August 2023, tentatively.
Candidates who intend to apply for admission to the Chettinad Academy of Research and Education MBBS degree courses are advised to register themselves through the online web portal of the Medical Counseling Committee for participating in common counseling.
The candidates should also periodically check the MCC website for updates.
Those students planning to seek admission to BA LLB, Bcom LLB, or BBA LLB courses should have passed the qualifying examination (10+2 Examination) with a minimum percentage of marks, not below 45% in case of General Category/OBC and 40% in case of SC and ST Category.
The interested candidate must be over17 years of age as of the current academic year-end.
Candidate must have passed the higher secondary examination or its equivalent with the following subjects of English, Physics, Chemistry, and optionally from one of these: Botany, Zoology, or Biology.
Candidates who have successfully completed their B.P.T. from a recognized university can apply to this course offered.
The student should have completed the age of 17 years on or before 31st December of the year of admission. All students planning to take admission must have passed HSC/CBSE/ICSE in subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Botany and Zoology, and English individually.
The student should have passed in the subjects Physics, Chemistry, Biology (PCB) and English individually. They should have obtained a minimum of 45% marks taken together in PCB at the qualifying examination i.e., (10+2) from any recognized Board under AISSE/CBSE/ICSE/SSC/HSC or other equivalent Board.
For the candidates belonging to SC/ ST or other backward classes, 40% of marks in PCB subjects must be obtained by the student.
A fitness certificate from an authorized medical officer that the candidate is physically fit to undergo the academic course needs to be submitted at the time of admission.
