DOMS Roorkee Placements 2023 - Average & Highest Package, Percentage

The placement and pre-placement activities of the Department of Management Studies are conducted by the placement committee of the institution. The committee implements efforts like personality development sessions, pre-placement talks, mock interviews, group discussions, etc., to make the students ready for DOMS IIT Roorkee placements each year. The department has released its official placement report for the batch of 2020-2022 placement. A total of 53 recruiters participated in the current placement drive of the institution. The total batch size for the placements was 69 students. The maximum number of students were from the Operations specialisation which accounted for 31% share of the total batch. This was followed by the Finance specialisation which had a 29% share. Marketing had a 22% share and IT had 14%. The least share of students was in the HR sector out of all specialisations, accounting for 4%.  Out of the total job roles offered through DOMS IIT Roorkee some are Team Lead, Senior Manager, Senior Consultant, Product Specialist, Operations Analyst, Marketing Analyst, Product Manager, Business Analyst, Marketing Manager. 

• The DOMS IIT Roorkee placements salary for the top 50% average package is Rs 20.6 lakh per annum. 
• The placement offers for the top 25% and top 50% average packages have witnessed an increase of 36% in 2022 when compared to 2021 placements. 
• There has also been an increase of 75% in the Pre-Placement Offers (PPOs) compared to the PPOs in 2021.
• The DOMS IIT Roorkee placements packages for the top 25% and top 50% were Rs 15.33 lakh per annum and Rs 12.97 lakh per annum in 2021.

Apart from the placements for the final year students of the 2020-2022 batch, the Department of Management Studies, IIT Roorkee also conducted its Summer Placements for the students of 2021-2022 batch. 2019 Marked one of the most successful years for the Department of Management Studies of IIT Roorkee. The highest salary package offered in 2019 is of 12lakh rupees per annum. There were 2.47 offers for students per capita given by 47 companies which marked their presence on the campus in the summer placements.

The candidates coming from Civil Engineering and Mechanical Engineering backgrounds and pursued their MBA got the highest number of placements which was 36% of the total placements. Freshers bagged the most number of jobs (46%) where there was less number of jobs for experienced people, however, people who have at least 1 year of experience in workplaces were offered lucrative packages.

Some of the most prominent companies which marked their presence on the campus in 2019 include TATA, Fujitsu, Snapdeal, Zomato, Oyo, PayTM, Emami, KPMG, etc.

Below are the statistical insights of the placement report of IIT Roorkee’s DoMS in 2019,

The Department of Management Studies (DoMS) at IIT Roorkee has successfully wrapped up its placements for the batch of 2016-18. The placements have improved as compared to the batch of 2016-18. The average salary offered to the top 50% of students last year was Rs. 10.24 lakh per annum, whereas, for the 2016-18 batch average salary of the top 50% of students stood at Rs. 10.7 lakh per annum.

Jobs were offered in profiles such as analytics, sales, consulting, presales, operations, marketing and finance. KPMG, Dunnhumby, ICICI, HDFC, Bristlecone and various other popular recruiters visited the campus of IIT Roorkee DoMS and hired students.

IIT Roorkee DoMS Placement Highlights 2018:

For the batch 2015-17, 53 students were placed out of a total batch strength of 57. The number of offers also included 3 PPOs/ PPIs. The highest package offered at the institute last year was Rs. 14.5 lakh per annum, whereas, the average package recorded at IIT Roorkee DoMS was Rs. 9.18 lakh per annum.

Head of the Department of Management Studies at IIT Roorkee, Dr. Zillur Rahman was also awarded recently for his excellent guidance, leadership and research work he did so far. His work includes 55 publications up till the session 2015-17, along with a collection of 805 citations and 17 h-index.
