G.B. Pant Institute of Technology, formally known as G.B. Pant Polytechnic, was established in 1961. It was named after Pandit Govind Ballabh, a renowned freedom fighter and an able administrator. Located in the Okhla Industrial Estate, Okhla Phase III, New Delhi, near Nehru Place in South Delhi, G.B. Pant Institute of Technology is spread over 20.25 acres and is the largest Polytechnic in Asia. The institute has good connectivity via metro, the nearest metro station is Govindpuri Metro Station.
The institute offers full-time diploma courses such as Diploma in Automobile Engineering, Production Engg, Civil Engg, Electrical Engg and Mechanical Engineering. And it offers part-time diploma courses such as Diploma in the fields of Civil, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering. The institute also offers Bachelor of Vocational (B.Voc) Programmes in the disciplines such as Automobile, Construction Technology and Refrigeration & Air-Conditioning.
