CAT Weightage Chart 2024: Section & Topic-wise Weightage

CAT weightage chart 2024 refers to the topic-wise distribution of questions in each section: Quantitative Aptitude, Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning, and Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension. This year, the expected CAT weightage for QA is 34%, DI is 16%, LR is 16%, RC is 24%, and VA is 10%. According to last year's data, Arithmetic and Algebra accounted for approximately 65% of the quantitative section in the exam. Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR) together held a weightage of 32%, with each contributing 16%. How Did the CAT Exam Pattern Change Over the Years?

The CAT exam pattern has remained consistent over the past two years, and there are no anticipated changes for the upcoming year. The exam consists of three sections: Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC), Quantitative Aptitude (QA), and Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR). It is a computer-based test with a total duration of approximately 3 hours. The exam includes both multiple-choice and non-multiple-choice questions. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the exam duration was decreased from 180 to 120 minutes in CAT 2020. The time per section was also reduced from 60 to 40 minutes. In CAT 2021, the number of exam slots was expanded from two to three, and the number of questions was reduced from 76 to 66. CAT 2024 will be conducted by IIM Calcutta on November 24, 2024. Goa Institute of Management (GIM) is a leading b-school offering good placements. The highest and average salary packages offered in GIM Goa Placements are Rs. 25.60 LPA and Rs. 11.30 LPA respectively. The institute does not provide the salary data for separate courses.

A Tuition Fee Waiver Scheme is available at GIM for students whose family income is less than Rs. 8 lakhs per annum. Meritorious students are awarded the ACCESS scholarship of Rs. 4 lakhs at GIM if they perform well in the selection process of the institute.

Goa Institute of Management (GIM), Goa does not offer any reservations under sports quota or management quota. All admissions at GIM are merit-based. However, the institute does lower the cutoff by 15 points for candidates with a domicile of Goa.
