Placement: Our university offers placement to agricultural students rarely. In the records they show that they offers 100% placement drives but that is not true. Sometimes even a single student is not get placed from the whole batch. So they planned to get into higher studies.
Infrastructure: The Infrastructure of the university is more or less good. There are more than 10 colleges in our university which offer more than 50 programmes. There are more than 5 canteens in the university campus which offer both vegetarian and non vegetarian food and even South Indian food ( since most of the students of agriculture programme aer from southern states ). There are no AC in classrooms. Only fans are there. Labs are well equipped with modern equipment’s but they rarely used them. There are 2 ATM in the university campus. 2 Big playgrounds are there.
Faculty: The faculty of agriculture is best in terms of cooperation. They support us a lot and understands us except few ones. But the faculty is not much qualified like majority of the staff is qualified only with masters degree. Only a few are of doctoral level. Some of them have the best knowledge of the concerned subject. Some are expert In field work.
Hostel: There are 4 boys, 2 girls and 1 international hostel in our university campus. The hostels are wifi equipped. Solar geyser is there for hot water. Separate AC rooms available. Attached bathroom in boys and international hostel but not in girls hostel. So if you are a female students think twice before enrolling in hostel. Because sometimes there are 4 students enrolled in one room in girls hostel.
Overall: Firstly, I joined this university in agriculture programme because of one reason that our university is ICAR Accredited university. Only 2 private universities in Punjab are accredited by ICAR and our university is one of them. My batch is 2021 and there are almost 250 students in my batch. Majority of the students are from southern states like Kerala, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka etc. My overall experience at GKU is above average. In the first year of my college I used to think that I shouldn’t take admission there or a question was regularly hindering me that why I came here. But with the passage of time, my experience changes and I used to enjoy a lot in the campus with my friends. And now I’m in the final year of my degree and sometimes I used to get sad by receiving the thoughts that after final year, there will be no more classes, fun, friends etc.
Overall: Guru Kashi University is one of the leading universities of Punjab region. University College of Agriculture offers B.Sc.(Hons.)- Agriculture 4 year course accredited by Indian Council of Agriculture, New Delhi., that makes it second private university having this accreditation. If you not get selected in State Agriculture Universities, Feel free to join Guru Kashi University that provide quality education in this field.
Placement: The placement ranking improved in last years after the establishment of Placement Cell. 5 Students from my batch got selection this year in renowned companies with average package of 3.00-5.00 lakh per annum. Job Fair is organized every year for placement of students.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure of the university is good with all facilities. Smart classrooms, Well equipped labs, 50 Acre farm area for agri. research provides all curriculum related requirements of the students. Fees counter, Library, Students Interaction Cell etc. facilities are available under one roof.
Faculty: Faculty is well qualified having work experience in different agricultural universities, that are expert in their fields of specialization. All the staff is helpful and have good skills of teaching. Teaching is done through practicals, assignments and presentations.
Hostel: Separate hostels are available for boys and girls with CCTV Surveillance, comfortable rooms, attached washrooms and AC/ Non AC option. Three time meals are provided by the hostel mess. Event are organized every weekend for refreshment of the students in hostels.
