Indian Institute of Gems & Jewellery Delhi Overview
Indian Institute of Gems & Jewellery Delhi is a subsidiary of The Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC), sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Govt. of India. Formerly known as Jewellery Product Development Centre (JPDC) started in 1986, this was restructured as a Section 8 non-profit company in the year 2010, and was rebranded as Indian Institute of Gems and Jewellery Delhi (IIGJD), on the lines of other similar educational projects of the GJEPC at various parts of the country. The institute has done pioneering work in training manpower in the specialized field of Jewellery designing, Jewellery manufacturing and Gemology. Indian Institute of Gems & Jewellery (IIGJ) is one of the oldest institutes and is conveniently located in the heart of Delhi. So far it has trained more than 10,000 students in Jewellery design, Jewellery manufacturing & gemology.

For admission in the Diploma in Gemmology course offered by Indian Institute of Gems & Jewellery Delhi, there is no entrance exam. The institute provides admission on merit basis. You have passed Class 12 from a recognised board to be eligible for admission. The duration of the Indian Institute of Gems & Jewellery Diploma in Gemmology course is six months and it is offered in full-time mode. After completion of the course you can work as a diamond grader, gemologist etc. The institute provide scholarships to students whose family income is less than Rs 3 LPA.
