IIM Nagpur is one of the six new-generation IIMs established by the Government of India in 2015. It was the first among them to begin operations under the mentorship of IIM Ahmedabad. Initially, it was started on a temporary campus at VNIT Nagpur, but in November 2021, it shifted to its present location, a 132-acre campus in the MIHAN at Nagpur. IIM Nagpur aims to create value-driven leaders, global managers, and entrepreneurs with strong conceptual foundations and analytical approaches to help them excel in their chosen fields.

The institute offers a wide range of management courses at the graduate, doctoral, and certificate levels. The flagship program is the two-year PGP leading to an MBA degree. Other courses include PGPEM, EPGP, and PhD. IIM Nagpur admissions are based on CAT/ GRE/ GMAT/ GATE/ NET-JRF scores. IIM Nagpur also has a Satellite Campus at Vaikunth Mehta National Institute of Cooperative Management (VAMNICOM) in Pune that offers an Executive MBA, PGP in Transport Management, and Executive Education Programmes (EEP).

IIM Nagpur is equipped with all the necessary infrastructural facilities like classrooms, offices, laboratories, library, auditorium, discussion rooms, computer rooms, audio-visual facilities, hostels, dining halls, etc. In 2023, IIM Nagpur was ranked 43 under the Management category in India by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF). IIM Nagpur offers scholarships and financial aid to economically weak students seeking admission to postgraduate, PhD, and other programmes. Currently, the MBA batch size at IIM Nagpur is optimal, and the institute should maintain this size to ensure that accommodating a large number of students doesn't become a challenge. Though the institute does not have a strong alumni network, it is getting better with every passing batch, and we can expect it to become stronger in the future.

IIM Nagpur Infrastructure

IIM Nagpur has a 132-acre campus in the Multi-modal International Cargo Hub and Airport at Nagpur (MIHAN) that is equipped with all the necessary facilities for the holistic development of students.

Classrooms

The classrooms are centrally air-conditioned and come equipped with modern features like projectors, digital board, audio & video system, podium, etc.

Our Take:

IIM Nagpur is one of the most prestigious management institutes in India, boasting a top-notch infrastructure. With the campus being built in three phases, phase 1 has already been successfully developed, while phases 2 and 3 are still in the pipeline. Hostel students are strictly prohibited from bringing their motor vehicles to the campus, which can be a major inconvenience while venturing out. However, transportation options such as cabs, autos, and buses are readily available outside the campus.

IIM Nagpur Placement 2023 marked an increase of 10.05% in the average salary package, which is quite impressive. Being a new IIM, its placement statistics may not be as impressive as those of top IIMs; however, it is making continuous efforts to get every student placed with excellent packages.

IIM Nagpur is located at Dahegaon Mauza, MIHAN, Nagpur, Maharashtra. It boasts easy accessibility to the nearby town markets through convenient transportation routes. The institute is only 9 km away from Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Nagpur International Airport, making it easily accessible to students and faculty members alike. The Khapri Railway Station is at a proximity of 2.7 km, and the Chichbhawan Bus Stop is approximately 5.6 km away. The institute is only eight years old, which puts limitations on many things it wants to achieve. However, despite this, IIM Nagpur is on a great trajectory, and it's only a matter of time before it reaches new heights.

IIM Nagpur has achieved a 100% placement record, which is a testament to the quality of education it provides and the calibre of its students. Every year, there has been an increase in the highest and average packages offered to the students. If you are a candidate who has the option of going to a better IIM than IIM Nagpur, then you should surely consider it. However, if you are getting admission to IIM Nagpur, then it won't be a bad decision to join it since the institute has a lot to offer to its students.
