• Pranjali Banchhor, a current IIM Raipur student, shared that PI's current affairs section is divided into six subsections: political news, technology and environment, national news, international news, business and economics and sports. For the political news section, one should know about the current government in the country and state, cabinet members, Lok Sabha members and speakers, recent laws, etc. For the technology and environment section, learn about the Indian IT sector, major trends and terms of the IT sector such as AI, blockchain, cryptocurrency, the revenue of major global companies, climate summits etc. 
• Moreover, Prasath K Sahu shared his insights about business and economy-related questions. As per him, knowing the current business happenings in and around the world is important for the interview. Candidates are asked about their opinion on major decisions taken by the leading companies. For economics topics, reading about GDP, innovations, inflation, deflation, economic growth, fiscal policy, investment, stocks, etc would be helpful. 
• As per Harshita Kaushal, students from sports backgrounds will be asked deep questions related to the sports they are interested in. Getting admission at IIM Raipur without CAT scores is possible. The institute offers admission to courses such as EPGP and PhD which don’t require CAT scores. However, one can’t get admission to the flagship programme of IIM Raipur, MBA without CAT scores. 

Is CAT mandatory to take admission in IIMs?

No, CAT is not compulsory for IIM Raipur admission.  CAT scores are only mandatory for admission to the MBA programme offered by IIM Raipur. Admission to other courses such as EPGP and PhD are based on academic qualifications and other entrance tests such as GMAT, GRE, GATE, JRF and UGC NET. 

Admission at IIM Raipur without CAT

A student can apply to a two-year blended course, Executive Post Graduate Programme in Management (EPGP) or PhD to get admission at IIM Raipur without CAT.  Detailed admission criteria for both programmes are given below.  

EPGP: No entrance exam is required for admission to the IIM Raipur executive MBA programme. Apply based on the eligibility criteria and work experience. The final selection will be based on the candidate’s performance in PI. Evaluation will be based on five parameters namely, richness of industry experience, communication skills, leadership aptitude, team spirit and ethical orientation

PhD: As per IIMA PhD admission criteria, candidates need to obtain a valid score in entrance exams such as GRE, GMAT, UGC-JRF, GATE, and UGC-NET in place of CAT.
