IIT Delhi admissions are offered to B.Tech courses on the basis of scores obtained in JEE Advanced. Candidates with valid marks then proceed to participate in the JoSAA counselling. Registrations are now open and will close on June 18, 2024. Round 1 counselling for IIT Delhi admissions will commence on June 20, 2024.
The admission criteria of IIT Delhi vary as per the course and specialisations. For B.Tech, the JEE Advanced scores are considered. For M.Tech, GATE exam scores are considered. The detailed eligibility criteria for various courses offered at IIT Delhi are mentioned below.
Offline Application Form:
Candidates or students trying to seek admission can walk into the campus and head to the admission cell to get the admission form. They can also clear any of their doubts from the admission cell and then submit the form once they have filled in all the required data with relevant documents. While submitting the application form, a nominal fee of Rs 1000 must be paid. This amount can be paid via credit/debit card, UPI or cash.
Online Application:
Candidates can also visit the institute's official website and then fill in the application form in online mode. They would also be required to attach the relevant documents which are requested on the official site. Once the documents are attached candidate will have to pay a fee of Rs 1000. Upon completion of the process, the candidate would receive an e-mail confirming the same.
The detailed instructions to fill the IIT Delhi application form are mentioned below.
Step 1: Visit the official website of the institute which is iitd.ac.in.
Step 2: Click on “Admissions” to view various admission-related details. Click on “Apply Now” in this section.
Step 3: The registration page will open, click on “New User Register Here”. Fill out the registration form and create a password for future logins.
Step 4: Fill the remaining details of the application form for IIT Delhi admission 2024.
Step 5: Upload all documents like passport size photograph and signature in the asked format.
Step 6: Pay the application fee using a debit card, credit card, or net banking.
The counselling process is carried out once the candidate has been shortlisted for IIT Delhi admission to a particular course. The counselling centre is mostly at the institute itself which makes it easy for the candidate.
The candidate is given a particular date and time when they need to come for counselling. This process helps them to understand the different fields and specialization available at this institute. The candidates must have passed Class 12 in Science stream (PCM) + Rank in JEE Advanced to be eligible for B.Tech admissions.
JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) conducts the counselling/selection process for IIT Delhi B.Tech admissions. The candidates must register for JoSAA counselling in June/ July. The candidates must exercise the options while registering for JoSAA and the seat allotment will be based on candidate’s rank in JEE Advanced, opening and closing ranks of IIT Delhi and availability of the seats in the course chosen by the candidates. JEE Advanced rank is the sole criterion for IIT Delhi B.Tech admissions.
The candidates must have passed B.Tech degree + GATE score is required for M.Tech admissions at IIT Delhi.
Firstly, IIT Delhi will determine the GATE cutoff to shortlist the candidates for admission to M.Tech admission. For some specializations in M.Tech, direct admission is granted as per the GATE cutoff of IIT Delhi. IIT Delhi conducts interviews for some M.Tech specializations, and the candidates must clear the interview for securing admission.
In order to be eligible for the MBA at IIT Delhi, candidates need to have a bachelor’s degree in any discipline + CAT score. For IIT Delhi MBA seats, the CAT scores are considered for MBA and MBA Telecom. The result for CAT 2023 was announced by IIM Lucknow on December 21, 2023. The CAT scores will be applicable for IIT Delhi MBA admission. IIT Delhi prepares the CAT cutoff for shortlisting the candidates for MBA admission. The shortlisted candidates must participate in the Written Ability Test (WAT), Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI). The final selection of the candidates will be based on his/ her overall performance in CAT, WAT, GD, and PI.
