IIT Delhi Launches Executive Programme for Tech Product Management to Nurture Skilled Tech Leaders
IIT Delhi has introduced an Executive Programme for Tech Product Management, aimed at nurturing skilled leaders to meet the growing demands of the tech industry. This programme is meticulously designed to provide participants with the necessary skills to effectively manage tech products in the fast-paced digital age. The programme, which combines IIT Delhi's academic rigour with real-world industry insights, is specifically designed to meet the challenges and opportunities of today's tech landscape. It is intended for mid-career professionals looking to enhance their managerial skills or transition into roles that require an understanding of both technology and business.
The five-month online course includes modules on product ideation, strategy, product roadmap, product design and discovery, product development, and product marketing. It aims to equip learners with the knowledge and skills needed to successfully navigate the complexities of tech product management. Upon completion, learners can explore careers as technical product managers, product marketers, business analysts, product analytics managers, product owners, and more. The programme will be delivered via an advanced interactive learning platform in direct-to-device mode, with participants also getting the opportunity to experience the prestigious institution during a one-day immersion programme.
IIT Delhi, TimesPro's Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning programme's first batch graduates
The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi and TimesPro's Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning for Industry programme celebrated a significant milestone with its inaugural batch concluded with the successful completion of its immersion session recently. The batch with a strength of 58 learners underscored the programme's commitment to equipping professionals with the skills needed to excel in the rapidly evolving world of AI and machine learning.
The AI and Machine Learning programme is an exclusive offering from the Department of Yardi School of AI, IIT Delhi and is contextually designed to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application in the industry. With the aim of fostering innovation, enhancing employability, and nurturing future leaders in the field of AI and machine learning, the programme has already demonstrated its immense potential.
The immersion session showcased the programme's commitment to delivering tangible learning outcomes and benefits to its participants. It provided learners with a unique platform to connect with peers, industry professionals, and mentors. The completion of the immersion session marks a significant step for participants as they transition with new-age skills into the industry.
During the six-month programme, learners were exposed to a wide range of topics and hands-on experiences where they gained skills in mathematical foundations of machine learning, design and implemented AI solutions, analysed data, and leveraged machine learning algorithms to effectively mitigate real-world industry challenges. Learners had the chance to work on real AI and machine learning projects, gaining practical experience that is highly sought after by employers. These projects showcased their ability to apply their knowledge to real-world scenarios.
The placement season at IIT Delhi for the academic year 2022-23 begins
The placement season for the academic year 2022-23 at IIT Delhi has begun. Students received approximately 650 full-time employment offers and approximately 550 unique career options by the end of Day 1 on December 1 and 2, 2022.
New Delhi: Over 250 pre-placement offers are included. Many students have received multiple job placement offers. The number of employment offers received has increased by 20% compared to the same period last year.
Currently, over 400 national and international firms offering over 800 job profiles across several sectors have registered to hire students. American Express, Bajaj Auto, Boston Consulting Group, Enphase Solar Energy, Intel, Praxis Global Alliance, and Strategy& were among the top recruiters on campus on Day 1.
Over 50 students have received domestic offers worth more than Rs. 1 crore each year. Approximately 20 students have obtained international job offers from Hong Kong, the Netherlands, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Domestic offers have been preferred by certain students over international offers.
"We wish to thank and acknowledge all participating recruiting organisations for reposing their continuing faith in our students," stated Dr. Anishya Obhrai Madan, Head, Office of Career Services, IIT Delhi. They endeavour to establish a welcoming environment for both recruiters and students at IIT Delhi. This year, they are looking forward to having recruiters from a variety of industries throughout the placement season."

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT)-Delhi Curriculum Revamp
In a recent interview, IIT Delhi Director Rangan Banerjee stated that a committee has been established to examine the IIT Delhi curriculum for all courses. In order to improve the educational experience for students, the institution is reviewing the entire curriculum. He further added that it was necessary to completely overhaul the curriculum in order to provide challenges and chances for pupils to interact with the actual world.
Each academic entity at the institute will assess its courses in light of the concept note that the committee for curriculum review is currently working on. Over 54,000 IIT Delhi students have graduated since its inception.
At present the challenge is to deal with a generation of pupils that have shorter attention spans. Hence, the institute is heading towards taking a step forward to adopt a holistic approach in the IIT Delhi curriculum.
