Overall: The Institute of Science, Nagpur, established in 1906, is one of the most prestigious science colleges in Central India. It is a government-aided autonomous college affiliated with RTM Nagpur University and is NAAC-accredited with an ‘A’ grade. The overall learning environment is disciplined and academically rich. Students get a strong foundation in science, great lab exposure, and research opportunities through various UGC and DST-funded projects. Although placements could be better, this institute is ideal for those aiming for higher studies or government careers. I had a very productive and growth-oriented experience here.
Faculty: Faculty members are well-qualified, many being Ph.D. holders engaged in ongoing research projects. They are friendly, helpful, and provide guidance for competitive exams, higher studies, and research publications. Departments like Environmental Science, Nano Science, Chemistry, and Physics are particularly active in publishing and mentoring. Teachers also support students with project work and academic competitions, making it a great place for motivated learners.
