To be eligible for the B.Tech. (Bachelor of Technology) degree program at IIT Dhanbad Dhanbad, aspiring candidates must meet certain criteria. Firstly, they should have successfully completed their higher secondary education (10+2) or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as core subjects. Additionally, candidates are required to have secured a minimum aggregate score of 75% (70% for SC/ST/PwD candidates) in their qualifying examination. Moreover, they must have qualified in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main and subsequently the JEE Advanced, which is the entrance exam for admission to IITs. Admissions are granted based on the JEE Advanced ranks and counseling process conducted by the institute.

Infrastructure: Mainly the heritage building damn god it's so good to see the surrounding nature and the library too good to have Asia's 2nd largest technical library and also the innovative hub i2h and also the aquamarine hostel so beautiful to watch and live in
Faculty: It is my pleasure to say that all the faculty to my allotted courses are the high end PHD scholars and the topics they say are just be in our brain and never have gone away and the course instructors are so polite and will explain anything no matter how many times you ask
Hostel: I say I have stayed in amber hostel for the 1st year and it's so good that it has 4 blocks and each have a badminton court and also a basketball court and the food is also good and in 2nd year we are shifted to aquamarine which is 13 floors and the ventilation is the best and surrounded by trees and the food is top clss hen compared to amber but I don't say ambers is not good but it's not bad but comparatively this is best I think so
Overall: Overall experience was average. I have got some very good friends. Some teachers who motivate us even infrastructure was really nice. Hostel was also good.
Placement: Not every student of this institute gets placement. Only less numbers of student gets placed like 30%. BUT IF YOU WORK HARD SURELY YOU'LL GET THE PLACEMENT

Infrastructure: Buildings are old like it develops in 90s, because of corruption, every building have many faults. classrooms are not air conditioned. No one classroom is suitable for summer classes.
Faculty: Those professor who joined after becoming iit are very good standard but they are few in numbers. other dept have prof of ISM time , they are inefficient and just teaching not understandable. dont have standard project in there portfolio.
Hostel: Hostel premises are not properly cleaned, not painted. just black spots on each wall. never maintain the hygiene and living standard of students. parents said I am loving in railway station kind dirty place
Overall: Like this famous saying , college days are the best days for anyone its the same for me. At the first year i was a little scared but i only got to know as we got to the fourth year, college days are the most beautiful days in our life.
Placement: The placements are surely not very hard to get since its a prestigious IIT. But to get a higher package we need to perform at our best in the semester exams. There are placement workshops which help us in many ways to get better package.
Infrastructure: It has the best infrastructure(buildings) that i have ever seen. It was worth it to study hard for the two years. They provide everything that we ever would need. Labs, Classroom complexes and everything else. Including cricket ground, badminton court.
Faculty: The faculty are highly experienced and they support us a lot. Most of them have done a pHD from other IITs and foreign countries.. they have offices where we can go in and clarify all our doubts.
Hostel: The hostels at IIT dhanbad are decent. They provide us with every need we would have. There are four blocks for boys and three hostel blocks for girls. They are decently spacious and clean.
Overall: Overall we have good hostels, infrastructure,faculties,library system,a beautiful campus,proper academic schedule,13 week long course program per semester followed by exams,good placement and companies visiting.
Placement: Highest placement is from the computer science and engineering branch followed by petroleum engineering branch.Civil placement is a little bit weak.Other than this the coding culture of college is very good even people from lower branches get the opportunity to be a part of coding club (cyber labs) and get placed in good software companies.

Hostel: Rosaline hostel for girls is 10 floor buildings (2 are there),for boys aquamarine is 14 floor new hostel built,other hostels are sapphire,topaz,Ruby,opal,diamond,jasper etc. Mess and canteens are available in hostel along with good facilities of wifi and geysers.

With 2 persons in a room until 3 rd year and single room in 4 th year , the message menu is good but you know hostel food quality , joke apart we got 2 grand dinner in a single semester . Being a very old institute the rooms in the older hostel are a bit small and may feel too much packed but the memories that the students create in those small single rooms with 10 friends are never forgotten. Although newer hostels have modern facilities and better and bigger rooms. Every hostel has its own canteen where you can change the monotonous taste of mess food.
