Infrastructure: Talking about the infrastructure, I must agree that it has good infrastructure but not up to the mark. There are so many things to be developed. However there is a new auditorium and new central library with better facilities and a new indoor stadium with more game options is being constructed which will be inaugurated within upcoming 2 months. The classrooms are good with the required facilities. The buildings are good. Parks need to be maintained a lot more. JEC has a lot of potential to develop and hope in near future it will. It has beautiful buildings which needs to be maintained a lot . The college has a nice infrastructure. It contains two main buildings for classes and those are really huge. It contains a central library and a good environment to study. There is park also for relaxation. I must say the overall infrastructure of JEC is far better than the other private or government institutions in Assam.
Hostel: Yes of course. This college has a total of 10 hostels and also includes guest house for the parents to stay if they come to visit their child. I am staying at the hostel and I have to say hostel life is the best. We get lots of experience by staying with batch mates, juniors and seniors and all are skilled at their own fields. The facilities and infrastructure are really good. I have no complaints staying at the hostel. The Hostel of Jorhat Engineering College is pretty good. There are currently 10 running hostels. 8 boys’ hostels and 2 girl’s hostels. 2 new hostels are being made which will be completed by this year I think. The hostel life is very good and is something I recommend. Hostel gives us a lot of experience which will be helpful in future. Each members of the hostel have different role, everyone must work from juniors to senior for the hostel to run smoothly as there is no warden in the hostel. Although there is a hostel superintendent but he doesn't stay in the hostel.
