Overall: Overall the college is good. It is the second best college of the Govt. aided Engineering Colleges in Assam. Civil, Mechanical, Computer Software, Instrumentation, & Electrical Engineering branches are available in the College.
Faculty: The College has all required faculty members for every branch. Regular classes are carried out by the College faculties. The faculties of the civil branch especially are sincere towards their duty.
Overall: Jorhat Engineering College, popularly known as JEC is the second oldest engineering college in Assam as well as North East. This college has been playing a very crucial role in producing valuable assets every year since its establishment. As a student of JEC, I must say that it has a very good environment to study and learn.. The college campus can be said to be average but the learning is top notch. It is quite peaceful inside the campus. JEC organises a Tech fest called PHOENIX every year which attracts a lot of crowd and companies and start ups all over the north eastern region of India. This college has been located in a very good location quite close to the town of Jorhat.
Faculty: There are 5 branches in Jorhat Engineering College which are - Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering and last but not the least Instrumentation Engineering. All the branches are quite good in terms of quality education. The faculty members are quite supportive and always ready to help in studies and internships. Students get internship at Oil, ONGC, NRL, Vedanta, Hindustan Unilever, and many other industries because of the guidance of these amazing faculties. Faculty is the best part of this college. Their teaching style, their ego, their attachment with students all are a lot different from what we have experienced in the 11-12tha standards. All the faculties are mostly NIT or IIT graduate and most suitable to teach. Their teaching environment is really something else. As I am studying in this college, from my experience with the faculty I can definitely say that there is no need for YouTube help if we study properly from the faculty.
