Candidate for admission to the first year of the degree of Bachelor of Social Work shall be required to have passed the higher Secondary Examination conducted by the Government of Tamil Nadu (or) an examination accepted as equivalent thereof by the syndicate, University of Madras.
Graduate in any discipline, of a minimum of 3 years duration or its equivalent (under the 10+2+3 pattern or any other pattern (including professional courses) that fulfills the mandatory requirements of 15 years formal education from a recognized University and approved by the University of Madras will be eligible for applying to the course.
Graduate in any discipline, of a minimum duration of 3 years or its equivalent (under the 10+2+3) pattern or any other pattern (including professional courses) that fulfils the mandatory requirements of 15 years full-time formal education from a recognized University and approved by the University of Madras. Age Criteria as per Government norms.
A Bachelor degree in any discipline from University of Madras or from any other University accepted by the Syndicate as equivalent is eligible for admission to this course. Employed Persons, Fresh Graduates and Candidates currently pursuing their PostGraduation Programme are also eligible to apply for this course.
Candidates for admission to the first year of the Degree of Bachelor of Science courses shall be required to have passed the Higher Secondary Examinations (Academic or Vocational Stream) conducted by the Government of Tamil Nadu or an Examination accepted as equivalent thereof by the Syndicate of the University of Madras.
A student who has passed B.A./ B.Sc. Psychology Degree Examination, or any of the following degree, Bachelor of Social Work (BSW), B.A. Sociology, B.Sc. Home Science or Human Development or Child Development, B.A. Philosophy, B.Ed. or any other related subjects, B.A / B.Sc. with Psychology paper/papers either from the Madras University or from any other University, accepted by the Syndicate as equivalent thereto shall be permitted to appear and qualify for the M.Sc. Degree in Counselling Psychology of this University.
The Minimum marks for Full-Time M.Phil. Degree course shall be 50% for the candidates who have qualified for the Master’s Degree in the respective discipline prior to 01-01-1991 and 55% for the candidates who have qualified for the Master’s degree on or after 01-01-1991.
There is no provision for rounding off of 54.5% and above marks to 55%. For candidates belonging to SC/ST Community and Disabled (Physically and Visually challenged) candidates, who have qualified for a Master’s Degree on or after 01-01-1991, a concession of 5% of mark, will be given in the minimum eligibility marks prescribed.
The admission may be made on the basis of the marks obtained by the candidates in qualifying examination and marks scored in the Entrance Test.
In the case of candidates of University of Madras including those from autonomous college of this University both Internal and External marks will be taken into account.
In the case of candidates who have obtained their P.G. Degree from other Universities, the marks secured by them in the External Examination plus Entrance Test marks will be taken into consideration to arrive the merit list.
