Students who belong to Scheduled castes / scheduled tribes are eligible to apply for the award of the scholarships.
Students who belong to Backward / Most Backward class, can apply for the award of the Scholarship, if the annual income of their parents does not exceed Rs.24,000/-.
The students who have secured 50% and above in aggregate in Higher Secondary Examination or equivalent examination, may apply for the award of National Loan Scholarship. First preference will be given only to those who have secured 60% and above.
The students who belong to AD converts are eligible to apply for the Harijan Welfare State Scholarship. The annual income of their parents should not exceed Rs.3,000/-.
Prescribed forms of application can be had from the Director of Social Welfare, 485, Anna Salai, Nandanam, Madras-35 on requisition with a self-addressed envelope.
The students who are the sons / daughters of Freedom fighterscan apply for the full fee concession. Application for scholarship will be distributed to them soon after the receipt of the Director's order calling for applications.
Certain scholarships are available for the wards of Exservicemen. For applications & other details, students are asked to contact the D.S.S.A board office.
The Scheduled Cast students, who are staying in recognized Hostels, can apply for the award of scholarship from the Harijan and Tribal Welfare Office, Chennai-5 in the necessary form of applications.
