Prof. Bedangadas Mohanty and Team Awarded 2025 Breakthrough Prize in Fundamental Physics - Prof. Bedangadas Mohanty (ALICE Collaboration) and Prof. Sanjay Swain, Dr. Prolay Mal (CMS Collaboration) have been awarded the prestigious 2025 Breakthrough Prize in Fundamental Physics. This award recognizes their contributions as co-authors of publications based on CERN’s Large Hadron Collider Run-2 data. The total prize of $3 million will be allocated among the collaborations, with $1 million each for ATLAS and CMS, and $500,000 each for ALICE and LHCb. The prize funds will be donated to the CERN & Society Foundation to support grants for doctoral students from member institutes to conduct research at CERN.
