Paavai Educational Institutions Celebrates Annual Sports Day 2025 - The Annual Sports Day 2025 at Paavai Educational Institutions was celebrated on May 8, 2025, showcasing a triumph of athletic excellence and team spirit among students. The event featured various sports competitions, encouraging participation and fostering a spirit of camaraderie among the students.

MoU Signing Ceremony Between Paavai Engineering College and Jeonbuk National University - The Department of Pharmaceutical Technology, Paavai Engineering College, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Biological Treatment Lab, Division of Biotechnology, College of Environmental and Bioresource Sciences, Jeonbuk National University, South Korea. The ceremony was held at GD Hall and was attended by the Chairman, Admin, Principal, Director – Centre for Research, Director – PIF, Dr. S. Kamalakannan, Head of the Department of Pharmaceutical Technology, along with seven faculty members, including Dr. Pugazhenthi and Mr. Gowtham. The event was compered by Ms. S. Ilakya, Assistant Professor, Department of Pharmaceutical Technology. The welcome address was delivered by the Director – Centre for Research, who emphasized the importance of collaboration and the mutual benefits both institutions could achieve. A video clip was played, showcasing Dr. S. Kamalakannan’s virtual conversation with the Prime Minister of India, Mr. Narendra Modi, regarding student exchange programs and startup establishment. Shri CA N. V. Natarajan, Founder and Chairman, Paavai Educational Institutions delivered the presidential address, stating, “The collaboration must result in meaningful contributions to the nation.” He emphasized that both Paavai Engineering College and Jeonbuk National University should work together to achieve tangible action plans with regular follow-ups. He also mentioned that student and staff exchange programs would be planned in the near future. Dr. S. Kamalakannan underscored that “Collaboration is not optional; it is essential.” He stated that the MoU signing should accelerate learning, enrich innovation, and open new avenues for research. He also emphasized the importance of joint publications in SCI journals to further strengthen the partnership. After the addresses, the Memorandum of Understanding was signed by Dr. S. Kamalakannan and Dr. R. Praveen Cumar and was exchanged in the presence of the Chairman. The following faculty members of the Department of Pharmaceutical Technology presented their project proposals: Dr. R. Praveen Cumar, Dr. M. Masilamani Selvam, Dr. S. Parthasarathi, Dr. H. Harikrishnan, Mr. M. G. Karthih, and Ms. S. Ilakya. A total of 14 project proposals were presented, and the speaker provided valuable suggestions for further strengthening the projects. The speaker encouraged the presenters to incorporate advanced technology in their projects. The Director – Centre for Research offered insights regarding funding opportunities and suggested utilizing the facilities at the Korean lab for sample analysis. He mentioned that any students or faculty members interested in collaboration could travel to Korea, with necessary arrangements being facilitated by the institution. The Principal encouraged the faculty members to integrate the suggestions provided and to maintain ongoing communication with Jeonbuk National University. Additional points discussed included the extension of the MoU with other institutions, the development of curriculum frameworks, and the initiation of online guest lectures by the staff. The speaker also offered access to advanced analytical instruments such as LC-MS, ICP-MS, Confocal Microscope, and HPLC-MS for minimal sample analysis, free of charge. The event concluded with the vote of thanks delivered by Dr. R. Praveen Cumar, Head of the Department of Pharmaceutical Technology.

Guest Lecture on Solar Renewable Energy and Its Opportunities - The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering successfully organized a guest lecture on the topic “Solar Renewable Energy and Its Opportunities” on 3rd May 2025. The session was conducted virtually and witnessed enthusiastic participation from the students of the department. The event featured Mr. N. Arunmozhi, Project Manager at HCT Energy, Dubai, as the esteemed speaker. Drawing from his extensive industry experience and insights into the global renewable energy landscape, Mr. Arunmozhi provided a comprehensive overview of solar power generation, emerging technologies, and career prospects in the solar energy sector. The session commenced with a warm welcome address by Ms. Indumathi, a second-year EEE student, who introduced the speaker and set the tone for the event. Mr. Arunmozhi then delivered a highly engaging and informative presentation, highlighting real-world projects, trends in solar infrastructure, and the increasing demand for skilled professionals in the renewable energy sector. The session concluded with an interactive Q&A segment, where students actively posed questions and explored various aspects of solar energy applications and career pathways. The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Kusuma, also a second-year EEE student, who expressed gratitude to the speaker, organizers, and participants. The lecture successfully broadened the students’ understanding of the solar energy sector and inspired many to consider renewable energy as a potential career path, aligning with global sustainability goals.

Guest Lecture: Digitizing Diagnosis - The Department of Biotechnology at Paavai Engineering College organized a Guest Lecture on “Digitizing Diagnosis: Coding in the Digital Era” on May 2, 2025, at Cute Hall. The Resource Person for the event was Mr. Yuvarajan Balakrishnan, Founder and Director of Amra Healthcare Training Centre, Hyderabad. The event was convened by Dr. C. Nirmala, Head of the Department of Biotechnology, and coordinated by Mr. K. Vignesh, Assistant Professor, Department of Biotechnology. Ms. C. Santhiya, a third-year Biotechnology student, skillfully moderated the proceedings. The session began with a prayer song led by Ms. N. Dharshinisree and Ms. Nikhitha C. S., followed by a welcome address delivered by Ms. K. Yuvashri, all from the third-year Biotechnology department. Ms. Sabitha S., also a third-year student, introduced the guest speaker, Mr. Yuvarajan Balakrishnan, highlighting his remarkable achievements and contributions in the field. Mrs. Kamala Krishnamoorthy, Director of the Paavai Innovation Forum (PIF), delivered the presidential address, emphasizing the importance of staying abreast of developments in the digital healthcare sector. The resource person, Mr. Yuvarajan Balakrishnan, delivered an enlightening session, sharing his expertise and innovative approaches in the field of medical coding. His talk covered essential topics including the fundamentals of medical coding, the importance of accuracy, an overview of the CPC exam, industry applications, and emerging innovations in the field. The session was highly interactive, with enthusiastic participation from the students through discussions and Q&A. This engagement allowed students to clarify doubts, explore new ideas, and gain deeper insight into the subject. Outcomes of the Event: Students gained an understanding of the significant impact of advancements in medical coding on the healthcare and research sectors. Attendees developed critical thinking and problem-solving skills to address complex medical coding challenges. Participants received insights into the medical coding course curriculum, including anatomy, physiology, and coding guidelines. Students understood the importance of staying updated with coding guidelines and regulations to ensure compliance and accuracy. The session concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Mr. T. Hariharasudhan, a third-year Biotechnology student. The lecture was attended by 80 students and was highly informative, equipping them with essential knowledge and skills to excel in the field. It was a resounding success, inspiring students to explore career opportunities in medical coding.

Placement Awareness Programme Conducted - A Placement Awareness Programme was conducted to guide students regarding placement opportunities and preparation. The session was led by Mr. R. Thamaraiselvan, Head of Placement and Training, who provided insights into effective strategies for securing placements and highlighted the various opportunities available to students in the current job market.
