To pursue a Ph.D. (Doctor of Philosophy) degree at Pondicherry University, Puducherry, candidates must meet certain eligibility criteria. Applicants should have a Master's degree in the relevant field from a recognized university, with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks or an equivalent grade. However, a relaxation of 5% is provided for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/differently-abled categories. Additionally, candidates must qualify in the university's entrance examination or any other national-level test such as UGC-NET (including JRF)/CSIR-NET (including JRF)/SLET/GATE.
