Pondicherry University Selection Criteria for UG Courses

Candidates must have completed Class 12 from a recognised board. Candidates need to appear for the CUET entrance exam and secure a valid score. Once candidates have qualified in the entrance exams, they must follow these steps to complete the Pondicherry University admission process:

• Check the Merit List:- The university will release a merit list based on the entrance exam scores. Candidates need to check the merit list to see if they  have been shortlisted for their desired course.
• Receive Admission Offer: If the candidate’s name is on the merit list, he/she will receive an admission offer from the university. This may be communicated via email or through the university’s official website.

• Tiebreaker Criteria: If multiple candidates have the same score, their ranking will be determined by undergraduate degree marks, 10th and 12th marks and age in days

• Pay Admission Fees: Candidates must pay the admission fees as specified by the university.

Pondicherry University Selection Criteria for PG Courses

To get into P.G. programs at Pondicherry University for the 2024-25 academic year, candidates must hold a graduation degree in relevant streams. Candidates must take the Pondicherry University Entrance Exam and meet the cut-off marks to be eligible for admission.

MBA Programme

• Admission is based on CAT scores. Candidates with valid scores in CAT, CMAT, or MAT are eligible.
• The application fee is Rs 1000 for general candidates and Rs 500 for SC/ST candidates, payable through challan or online banking.

PhD Programme

• Admission is based on marks/rank obtained in an entrance exam followed by a personal interview conducted by the university.
• Candidates should have a valid score from UGC/CSIR NET (JRF), SET, or GATE.

Other Courses (Except PhD and MBA)

• For most other courses, filling out the application form is sufficient.
• Admission depends on the marks obtained in the 12th board exam and the qualifying degree.
