PRIST University Thanjavur is a deemed to be university founded by Prof. P. Murugesan in 1985. The main campus - Thanjavur West Campus spreads over an area of 100 acres. Thanjavur East Campus spreads across 70 acres of land. There are almost 5000 students enrolled at PRIST University at present. The university has been approved by the Distance Education Council (DEC) and National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) has given approval for the B.Ed programme. The university was conferred deemed university status in accordance with the recommendations of the UGC Expert Committee, the Government of India and the Ministry of HRD.
PRIST University courses are offered through eight schools of study. PRIST University courses are offered in undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes in a wide range of streams such as Engineering, Management, Computer Applications, Arts, Commerce, Pharmacy, Law, Agriculture etc. As per the PRIST University admission process, the university accepts JEE Mains, NATA, GATE and CAT entrance exams for admissions to BTech, BArch, MTech and MBA programmes respectively.
For some courses, merit in the qualifying exam is taken into consideration. Students in the final year are provided with a plethora of employment opportunities through the PRIST University placement drive that is organised annually. PRIST University Courses and Admission 2024
PRIST University Thanjavur admissions are offered at the diploma, undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels. PRIST University admission to B.Tech./MBA/B.Sc. Agri/MCA programmes are based on candidates performance in the PRIST University entrance test. Admission to PRIST University accepts students who meet the eligibility requirements, have completed the admissions process, have validated their documents, and have paid the entrance fees. PRIST University admission to MBA, candidate have to appear for CAT exam conducted on all India level. Apart from CAT, PRIST University admission for MBA requires a candidate to take the PRIST University entrance test, which includes questions on reasoning, mathematics, English, aptitude, and general awareness. After the test candidate needs to appear for an interview and a group discussion after which he/she can confirm the admission by submitting the required documents. | Candidates who have cleared the M.Phil. course work with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade 'B' in the UGC 7-point scale (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) and successfully completing the M.Phil. Degree shall be eligible to proceed to do research work leading to the Ph. D. Degree in the same Institution in an integrated programme. A relaxation of 5% of marks, from 55% to 50%, or an equivalent relaxation of grade, may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC(non-creamy layer)/differently-abled and other categories of candidates as per the decision of the Commission from time to time. |
