RVSIMSR MBA Eligibility Criteria 2020

Aspirants seeking admission to the postgraduate management courses at RVSIMR are required to adhere to the MBA eligibility criteria specified by RVSIMSR. The minimum qualifications required for MBA admissions at RVSIMSR is given below.

• Candidate must have passed a bachelors degree course (UG course) from a recognized university / institute.

• Candidates from any stream are eligible to apply for MBA admissions at RVSIMSR.

• Candidates who are in the final year of the undergraduate study are also eligible to apply.

• A minimum aggregate score of 50% in each of Class 10th, Class 12th and Bachelor's Degree course is mandatory.

• Candidate must have scored at least 50% marks in any of the management entrance exams including CAT / MAT / XAT / TANCET.

RVSIMSR MBA Selection Process 2020

The final selection of candidates for the MBA course at RVSIMSR is done in the following steps.

• The shortlisting of the candidates for the MBA admissions at RVSIMSR is done on the basis of marks or rank obtained by the candidate in CAT / MAT / XAT / TANCET entrance exam.

• The shortlisted candidates have to appear for the Group Discussion and interview session conducted by the Institute for final selection for MBA admissions.

• Selected candidates are invited to block their seats in the MBA course at RVSIMSR by paying the MBA course fee for the first semester.

Candidates seeking admission to MPhil at RVSIMSR must satisfy the following eligibility criteria.

• Candidate must have completed a masters degree (PG) course or an equivalent course from a recognized university / institute.

• Candidate must have completed a total of 17 years of study, including SSC, HSC / PUC / Diploma, UG and PG. The minimum educational qualification of a candidate must be as per one of the following formats: 

  • 11-years SSLC (SSC / Class 10th / High School) + 2 years PUC (Pre-University Course) + 3 years UG + 2 years PG (11 + 1 + 3 + 2) OR

  • 10 years SSLC + 2 years HSC (Class 12th / Intermediate) + 3 years UG + 2 years PG (10 + 2 + 3 + 2) OR

  • 10 years SSLC + 2 years HSC + 4 years UG + 1 year PG (10 + 2 + 4 + 1) OR

  • 10 years SSLC + 3 years Diploma + 2 years UG + 2 years PG (10 + 3 + 2 + 2)

• Candidates who have completed one of the following professional master's degree course ARE NOT ELIGIBLE:

  • M.Tech / M.E.

  • PG Degree Course in Medicine

  • Any other similar professional PG course

In addition, the following category of candidates ARE eligible to apply for the MPhil course at RVSIMSR:

• Candidates who have at least 55% aggregate marks (50% for SC / ST / OBC-NCL . Disabled) or an equivalent grade in the master;'s degree course AND  are working in research schemes of 1 year or more duration at Bharathiar University or the Research Department of any affiliated college or at a university-approved research institution in any of the following positions:

  • Full- time Research Fellows

  • Technical Assistants

  • Research Assistants

• Candidates who are teachers in any college affiliated to Bharathiar University.

• Candidates who are teachers in a Higher Secondary School / High School / Middle School / Polytechnic institute approved by the Tamil Nadu Government.

To be eligible for admission to the PhD courses offered by RVSIMSR, a candidate has to first satisfy the RVSIMSR PhD Eligibility Criteria. Only candidates possessing the minimum educational qualifications specified below are eligible for PhD admissions at RVSIMSR.

• The candidate must have passed a Master’s degree or an equivalent degree from a recognised university. 

• The candidate must have completed the education for a total duration of 17 years as of study alone such as with:

  • 11-years SSLC + PUC + UG + PG (11 + 1 + 3 + 2) OR

  • 10 years SSLC + HSC + UG + PG (10 + 2 + 3 + 2) OR

  • 10 years SSLC + HSC + 4 years UG degree + 1 year PG degree (10 + 2 + 4 + 1) OR

  • 10-years SSLC + 3 years Diploma + 2 years UG degree + 2 years PG (10 + 3 + 2 + 2)]

• The candidates employed as a Full- time Technical Assistants, or Research Fellows or Research Assistants in the departments of institutes affiliated by the Bharathiar University can also apply for admission.

• Candidates who are currently employed as teachers of arts and science subjects in a Higher Secondary School / High School / Middle School / Polytechnics institute recognised by the Tamil government are also eligible for admission as a part-time research scholar.

• Candidates with professional master’s degree in M. Tech and M.E., and PG degree in Medicine and similar other professional courses are not eligible for PhD admissions.

The selection of the candidates for the PhD program in RVS Institute of Management and Research is on the basis of marks / rank obtained in SLET/NET or the common entrance test conducted by Bharathiar University.
