‘SDM Institute for Management Development’ campus is spread over 8 acres of land, situated at the foot of Chamundi hills of Mysore. SDMIMD has a state-of-the-art infrastructure fully covered by lush green trees. The student’s intake at the institute is approximately 200 and has approximately 20 well-educated faculty members. SDMIMD campus facilities are comparable to international standards and thus got ‘Archi Design Award’ for its excellence in architecture & infrastructure. The classrooms of the institute are well equipped with modern types of equipment such as LCD projectors, OHP’s computers and AV systems which make the teaching-learning process easy. To conduct seminars and workshops, there is a large auditorium available in the campus with a seating capacity of 300 people. Apart from that, the institute also has a conference hall which is mainly used to conduct laptop presentations and small group interaction.
Besides, SDMIMD has a world-class library with a stock of 15,000 books, 70 print journals, and access to 39,000 e-journals, etc. The computer lab of SDMIDM is equipped with upgraded systems and the latest technologies.
The hostel facilities are also available in the institute with fully furnished single rooms, lounge/ study area, recreational facilities and internet facilities, etc. Apart from academic studies, the institute also focuses on extra-curricular activities. For that, the campus of SDMIMD has a gymnasium, yoga hall, indoor and outdoor sports area. The ambiance of the SDMIDM amphitheater is excellent where approximately 500 people can sit together and watch the cultural show organized by the students and staff. The transportation facilities are also provided by the institute to ensure the safety and security of each student and staff. SDMIDM mess serves a variety of cuisines to around 300 people which is not only delicious but known for its quality and hygiene.
The SDMIMD hostel is indeed a home away from home. Fully furnished single rooms, lounge/study area, recreational facilities, and a common dining area create a mini world of its own. The facilities in the hostel include broadband internet access, housekeeping, dry cleaning and laundry services.
The SDM-IMD Mess is student-managed. The Students decide on the menu, fixed for a week. It caters to around three hundred people, and mixes a variety of North and South Indian vegetarian cuisine. SDM IMD Mess makes the painful process of going from home-made food to the hostel mess very easy.
"Silicon, the students’ Systems Club of SDMIMD was established in 2012 with an objective of serving as a single point of contact among the institute’s students for all the IT related activities. The club besides serving as an interface between the students and Systems department of the institute, also endeavors to evangelize the application of Information Technology in various functions of management through organization of many intra college events like Contests ,Quizzes, workshops, PPA (Pre-placement activity) knowledge sharing sessions, inter college events, guest lectures etc. Since its inception the club has internally managed all IT-support activities like development of websites etc., for the events organized by the students."
"HunaR is the HR club of SDMIMD established in 2016. The club's main aim is to foster learning in aspiring HR professionals. The club would be doing its part in exposing students to industry updates, core concepts and also helping them apply those concepts through various competitions, case studies and knowledge sharing sessions. The club would also be responsible for developing relationship with the industry professionals. Alongside the mentioned activities, the club would be coordinating and assisting various activities such as guest lectures, conferences, fests, workshops and would serve as the backbone for the institute’s initiatives."
Finnacle holds the Financial Backbone of SDM-IMD. This committee basically encompasses the committee members whose work entails publishing of weekly/daily news clips (Videos/audios/news scripts) related to Finance on the college’s website. Conducting quizzes in the college so as to keep the students updated with Financial Jargons and the where about. Finnacle also conducts intra-college events so as to enable students to get practical experience. Recruitment Process basically comprises of three rounds; First round is a Quiz, keen students can enrol their name and generalized quiz related to Finance and current affairs is conducted. The shortlisted students move to second round which is event creation, to see the creative side of students. The selected students move on to the third round which is Personal Interview. Students have to go through a rigorous interview conducted by the committee members. 5-7 students are finalized as the Budding Members.
