The very look of the campus drags the attention of the parents and their children and provides an indication that this college is their choice of making their dreams come true. The canopied growth of trees, which lined up from the main gate and lead to the building blocks is a treat to watch. There is a huge playground where the students can rejoice and relieve from their stress and strain
This college has the privilege of having such a green playground with Athletics track and good Cricket pitch and where of course Hockey and Foot Ball can also be played. There is separate Tennis court and Basket Ball court in the heart of the College campus for the benefit of the students.
A huge Bell symbolizing the traditional temple bell is situated on the top of the edifice of the College. It indicates the synthesis of traditional culture with the modernity.
An Open Air Theatre for conducting functions, celebrations and open meetings where all people can be accommodated is present on the eastern side of the College. Apart from the Open Air Theatre, this College has an Auditorium to conduct Seminars, Conferences and Meetings with a capacity of 1000 plus. This is a place of pride for the College.
On the whole, the College campus is picturesque, clean and green with buildings designed and constructed with meticulous and systematic planning is definitely a treat to the eyes. Every effort has been taken by the authorities to keep the campus spick and span.
The College caters to the residential requirements of the women students through two hostels in the College premises, with all the required facilities. The first hostel was established in 2000 and the second, in 2010. Each hostel has twenty rooms that can accommodate 60 students. One of the hostels is run by Solar power. A senior lady staff member, Dr. KVRB Varalakshmi, Lecturer in Sanskrit is appointed as the warden of the hostels. They takes care of the facilities, welfare and grievances in the hostels.
The NSS Units of Sri YN College have been functioning for the last three decades, working with dedication and following its motto, NOT ME BUT YOU in letter and spirit.
The College has two NSS units, with senior faculty members Dr. M. Nageswara Rao, Lecturer in English, and Mr. S. Yacob, Lecturer in Telugu as its Programme Officers,. There are 50 Junior and 50 Senior volunteers in each unit. The units organize various activities in accordance with the Annual Action Plan of the Affiliating University, presently, Adikavi Nannya University, with the cooperation of the Management, the Principal, the Advisory Committee, the staff and the volunteers.
The College has started a Yoga and Health Centre in the campus in 2004 under the direction of Acharya K.G.Prasada Raju, Founder of Sri Vasista Sevasram, Antharvedi, E.G.Dt. A senior faculty member, trained in yoga, has been appointed as the coordinator. The Yoga Centre offers a short duration, 15 days Certificate course in ‘Yoga’. The course is offered in the evening from 4 to 5 PM. A maximum of 30 students are admitted in each batch. Throughout the year, barring examination period, the course is offered. Students are admitted for a nominal fee of Rs.50/-.
The Coordinator offers training in physical fitness exercises, suryanamaskaraas, yoga aasanas, pranayama and meditation. In the first 30 minutes, moral principals and astaanga yoga are taught. Students are made to realize their innate strengths through this blend of theory and practice. Spiritual masters from different places are invited to deliver discourses and conduct workshops to the students every year.
The Yoga Centre works in close association with the Ramakrishna Seva Samithi of Narsapur. This has facilitated the mutual exchange programmes between the College and the Math. Students of the College participate in the competitions and workshops conducted by the Ramakrishna Math outside the campus. In turn Swamiji’s from the Math visit the College to enlighten the students through their discourses.
The Red Ribbon Club was formed in the College in 2014, with Dr. M. Nageswara Rao, NSS Programme Officer of Unit-I as its Convenor. It has 30 members who participate in all its activities
7 Andhra Naval Unit is functioning in Sri YN College, Narsapur since 3 Aug.1965 with 4 Senior Divisions and 2 Junior Division Troops. It was upgraded to 6 Senior Divisions wef 1 Oct. 1967.
Four Senior Divisions are affiliated to SYN College, Narsapur and two Senior Divisions affiliated to SVKP & Dr. KS Raju Arts and Science College, Penugonda. Capt (IN) VR Syamsundar is commanding the unit at present. The unit is functioning as a full pledged unit with all the accessories/facilities provided within the college premises including firing range. Boat Pulling and Ship Modeling training are being imparted to the cadets in accordance with the syllabus laid down, and models are also being prepared by the cadets. The following ANOs are holding the Divisions at present.
