Overall: Trinity Institute of Professional Studies (TIPS) is a solid choice for Journalism and Mass Communication (BJMC). Its strengths include experienced and supportive faculty, a practical curriculum with good labs, and decent placement support (companies like Zee Media, Times of India recruit). The infrastructure is good with AC classrooms and Wi-Fi. However, the campus is relatively small, which some students find a drawback. Overall, it's a good option for a strong foundation in media, with a focus on practical skills.
Faculty: The faculty at Trinity Institute of Professional Studies (TIPS) is consistently highlighted as a major strength. They are highly qualified, experienced, and knowledgeable, with many holding PhDs and significant industry experience (some with 10-30+ years in media). Students praise them for being supportive, approachable, and helpful, focusing on both theoretical understanding and practical application. They actively assist students with doubts, project work, and even internship opportunities, contributing significantly to a positive learning environment.
Overall: I didn’t choose TIPS out of preference — I chose it because I had no other option. I joined the counselling process late and ended up in the 3rd spot round, where this was the only college available. Like many students in my situation, I hoped for the best. Unfortunately, the reality has been far from ideal. From the beginning, the experience has been underwhelming. The faculty is unapproachable and intimidating, creating an environment where students are afraid to speak up or ask questions. Instead of being guided, we’re often dismissed or made to feel like we’re a burden for trying to learn. What’s worse is the serious lack of practical exposure. While students at other colleges are building portfolios, doing real-world projects, and gaining hands-on experience, we’re stuck with theory-heavy lectures that rarely connect with industry needs. In a competitive world, this puts us at a serious disadvantage. I didn’t come here expecting luxury — I came hoping to learn. But when a college fails to provide basic academic support and relevant training, it’s deeply frustrating. TIPS needs to do better. Because students deserve more than just a seat — we deserve an education that actually prepares us for the future.
Faculty: When it comes to the faculty at TIPS, the experience is a mixed bag — and unfortunately, often leans toward disappointment. While there are a few professors who are genuinely passionate and knowledgeable in their subjects, they are the exception, not the norm. The majority of the faculty either lack the required industry exposure or fail to engage students in a meaningful way. Teaching often feels mechanical, more like ticking boxes than inspiring minds. Communication between faculty and students is minimal. There’s little room for mentorship, academic dialogue, or intellectual curiosity. Doubts are brushed off, discussions are discouraged, and lectures are delivered more like monologues. In a world where education is rapidly evolving, this outdated, passive style of teaching leaves students unmotivated and disengaged. Moreover, many students feel that some faculty members aren’t even fully aware of the course material they’re supposed to teach. It’s hard to take academics seriously when your instructors seem barely prepared. This reflects poorly not just on individual educators but on the institution’s hiring standards and priorities. For an institute that promises quality education, TIPS falls short on one of its most critical pillars — its faculty. Students deserve educators who are not just qualified on paper, but passionate, prepared, and truly invested in their growth.
Yes, TIPS scholarships are provided to some deserving students with excellent academic performance.
