Excellent hostel facility is available for outstation students. The hostel building is present in the campus itself. Admission to the hostel is strictly on merit basis. Mess facility is available. It includesbreakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner. It has strict rules and high discipline is maintained. Good security is available round the clock.

Hostel facilities are available only for students staying beyond Karjat, Panvel and Asangaon on the Central Line and Vasai on the Western line.

Further details will be provided during admission or on personal enquiry in the office. The Hostel is situated in the campus and is managed by the SNDT Women’s University. ‘The seats are limited’. Admission is granted only on merit and distance basis (reservation as per caste is applicable). The Institute reserves the right to cancel the Hostel admission of students who fail and repeat papers and have less than 80 % attendance.

Usha Mittal Institue of Technology has an active NSS unit with a strength of 200 NSS Student Volunteers. The NSS Unit of UMIT constantly seeks young volunteers to help channelize their energies and capabilities towards nation building activities by organizing them into volunteers groups. National Service Scheme (NSS) has a vital role to play in the personality development of the Students and upliftment of society. It provides an opportunity to devote their time to the service of the nation and a sense of participation in national reconstruction and inculcation of social responsibility be created in the youth by providing creative outlet for their energies through National The NSS unit of Usha Mittal Institute of Technology is a force of committed students marching forward to make the world a more better place to live in. The NSS motto "Not Me, But You" inspires the unit to accomplish all the challenges that it takes up. The year 2014- 15 was one such year of good will and service where the unit conducted 38 programmes of community connect and on line outreach. The NSS unit believes in unity and delivers the message of humanity through its activities. The idea of being the change you want to see around you is firmly engraved in the minds of the volunteers and program officers of the unit. The unit, as a whole, hopes to bring about a better change with amalgamation of technology.

Elite, the entrepreneurship cell of UMIT, is a non-technical council which provides great opportunities for students to develop and enhance their entrepreneurial and management skills through various ingenious programs. The activities conducted by the E-cell council help, both the organizing as well as the participating students, gain confidence and improve their organizational, management, entrepreneurial, marketing, creative and leadership skills.

The faculty coordinator of E-cell for the year 2015-2016 was Prof. Yashwant Kale. The E-cell Sr. Council 2015-16 was formed and the rest of the council was interviewed and selected by the new council. Thus this years council chart was made by the Jr. council of E-cell council.
