Depending on the type of programme, the Cosmetology course syllabus differs. The most common subjects covered in this course are Advanced Haircutting, Anatomy and Physiology, Business Ethics in Cosmetology, Hair Colouring & Treatments, etc. Each subject will have its practical implications and practice sessions as well.

Cosmetology Syllabus and Subjects Overview

Cosmetology syllabus covers technical expertise in the fields of beauty, cosmetics, aesthetics, and more. This program's main goal is to educate professionals in the art and science of enhancing their clients' looks with everything from skincare and makeup to haircuts and nail care. This course emphasises innovation and creativity and is proficiency- and skill-driven. Dermatology, herbal cosmetics, cosmetic chemistry, cosmetic technology, colours and scents, etc. are among the topics studied in cosmetology subjects. The cosmetology course curriculum emphasises practical application, even for diploma programmes and short-term training.

The Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Skill Development issues certifications for various types of cosmetology courses. The broad curriculum for master's and bachelor's degrees, however, is determined by the colleges and institutions that provide the courses. As a part of the Cosmetology subjects, students learn about various hair styling methods, manicures, pedicures, and makeup applications for the daytime, evening, and weddings along with learning about basic and intermediate haircuts. After studying the cosmetology syllabus appropriately, graduates can work as nail techs, makeup artists, hair stylists, wedding and event stylists, beauty consultants, and more. They might even go on to start their salons or manage the workers. Graduates should plan on earning an average of INR 2-3 LPA when they start their careers. This page discusses a detailed Cosmetology syllabus and subjects which students should know before enrolling for the course.
