Central Agricultural University Imphal is located in Imphal, Manipur and operates under the Department of Agricultural Research and Education (DARE). Central Agricultural University Imphal admission is granted through three methods: State Nomination, ICAR AIEEA, and Self-Financed Seat.
State Nomination allows candidates from seven North Eastern states to approach respective state departments for admission, with 85% of undergraduate seats allotted through state nomination.
ICAR AIEEA has 15% of undergraduate seats reserved through the AIEEA entrance exam. While 75% of postgraduate and doctoral seats are selected through the CAU entrance test, and the remaining 25% are reserved through AIEEA.
The Self-Financed Seat is open for all candidates, and selection is based on the entrance test or AIEEA score for both undergraduate and postgraduate programs in selected disciplines.
Central Agricultural University Imphal admission process is explained below.
Step 1: Contact the Office of the Registrar/Dean of the respective constituent college for the CAU application form.
Step 2: Fill out the form with all necessary information and attach required documents like academic proofs, identity cards, and address proof.
Step 3: Submit the completed form to the registrar of the university before the deadline.
Step 4: Shortlisted candidates will be called for counselling based on their eligibility, bringing all original documents.
Step 5: Upon successful counselling, the provisional admission letter will be provided by the Registrar of CAU Imphal.
Step 6: Report to the Dean of the respective college and get original documents verified by a committee of senior teachers and the assistant registrar (Academic).
Step 7: Upon successful verification of documents, pay the required fee and get admitted to the college.
CAU Imphal Eligibility Criteria For UG Courses:
An eligible candidate must have passed the class 12 exam or equivalent with a minimum of 50% aggregate of PCB/PCBM/ or PCB/PCMB/ PCM /Inter-Agriculture for General & OBC categories and 40% marks for SC/ST/ Physically Challenged /In-service categories. The candidate must have passed class 12 with English as one subject of study. The candidate also must be of 17 years of age by August 31 of the admission year.
CAU Imphal Eligibility Criteria For PG Courses:
For postgraduate courses at Central Agricultural University Imphal, an eligible candidate must have passed graduation in the concerned subject from an ICAR-recognized Institution. Moreover, candidates must have scored 60% marks in graduation (for general) and 40% (for SC/ST/OBC) to be eligible for the PG courses. The selection of candidates in CAU PG courses will be based on the entrance examination marks (40% weightage), academic performance in the graduation exam (40% weightage), Class 11 and Class 12 (20% weightage).
CAU Imphal Eligibility Criteria For PhD Courses:
To be eligible for PhD courses at CAU Imphal, a candidate must have passed a masters degree programme from a recognised university with an overall GPA of 6.50/10.00, 3.25/5.00, and 2.6/4.00. In case GPA was not awarded, students must have scored a minimum of 60% marks (for the general category) in PG. SC/ST/OBC candidates must have achieved 50% marks in the PG exam.
