Recognizing the loss of two decades of prime development in the growth of animal husbandry, dairy, and fisheries under Agricultural Universities established, the Government of Karnataka took bold steps on the floor of the Legislative Assembly to establish the new Karnataka Veterinary, Animal, and Fisheries Sciences University. The Karnataka Veterinary, Animal and Fisheries University Act 2004, which was published in the Karnataka Gazette Extraordinary on the 23rd of February, 2004, established the KVAFSU. The University was founded solely for the advancement of education and learning, the conduct of research and extension education, and the transfer of rural-oriented technologies in the fields of Veterinary, Animal, Dairy, and Fisheries Sciences in Karnataka. KVAFSU is an autonomous academic institution governed by its Board of Management, which governs university policies in accordance with the provisions of the act and statutes. The Finance Committee also backs the University administration. Academic matters are handled by the Board of Studies of Faculties and the Academic Council, while the Research Council and Extension Education Council decide on the University's research and extension activities, respectively.

The Candidates selected shall pay the prescribed fee immediately during the counseling cum admission process for Master’ & Doctoral degree programme in Online mode as per instructions in the website (The Group Health Insurance fee to be fixed by the company has to be paid in cash only at the time of registration in the respective colleges).
Registration: The candidates admitted to Master/Doctoral degree after paying the prescribed fee shall report to the Head of the department concerned for advice on the courses to be taken and complete the prescribed formalities of registration on or before their respective ‘Last Date of Registration’.
Eligibility: Eligible candidates for this two years full-time MBA course shall possess B.Tech. (D.Tech.)/B.V.Sc./B.V.Sc&a. H.JB.F.Sc./B.Sc. (Agri.)/B. Sc. (Ag. Maco)/ B.Sc.(Horti. ) B Sc (Rural Home Sci.)y B.Tech.(Food Engg.) B.Sc.(Food Tech.)/ B.Tech.(Agri.Engg.) B Sc (Sericulture)/ B.Sc./B.Com/B.B.M./B.B.A. The candidates who have studied a years' undergraduate degree programme or possess a postgraduate degree in any discipline are also eligible.
Written Test: Candidates seeking admission have to appear for a written test compulsorily on the date mentioned below.
Reservation of Seats: The seats shall be reserved in accordance with the existing reservation policy of Govt. of Karnataka. However, no fee concession is given to any of the categories, since this is a self-financed degree programme. Application: Log on to www.foodmba.in for online application. Application fee of Rs.500/- for SC/ST/Cat-1 and Rs.1000/- for Others shall be paid through NEFT RTGS to the account of Assistant Comptroller, MBA Revolving fund (Canara Bank, Hebbal A/C No.0425101050836 IFSC code: CNRB0000425). The filled in applications duly complete in all respects along with the requisite application fee should be submitted on or before 21-11-2022.
Eligibility Criteria for admission to Masters’ degree programme as per ICAR:
i. A Bachelor's degree in Veterinary/Dairy/Fisheries science from any Institute/University accredited by ICAR/VCI, New Delhi
ii. OGPA of 6.00/10.00 or equivalent OGPA/equivalent percentage of marks for general category and 5.50/10.00 or equivalent OGPA/equivalent percentage of marks for SC/ST/Cat-I candidates at Bachelor’s degree level for Veterinary and Animal Sciences.
iii. OGPA of 6.50/10.00 or equivalent OGPA/equivalent percentage of marks for general category and 6.00/10.00 or equivalent CGPA /equivalent percentage of marks for SC/ST/Cat-I candidates at Bachelor’s degree level for Dairy and Fisheries Sciences.
iv. Candidates for master's degree programme should be a citizen of India and must have studied in any educational institution(s) in Karnataka State for a period of not less than seven academic years at any time up to the Bachelor degree as on 1st July of the admission year. [Not applicable to candidates who are GOK, GOI, ICAR nominees, NRIs and Foreign Nationals (FN)]. However, in the event of candidates not being available in a particular subject then the domicile requirement of seven years could be relaxed to outside state candidates in respect of admission to masters’ degree programmes of the University. The domicile requirement is not applicable for admission to doctoral degree programmes.
v. Candidates must have appeared for the All India Entrance Examination for Admission to Masters’ degree Programme (AIEEA-PG) conducted by NTA-ICAR New Delhi in the academic year 2022-23 and produce a scorecard (Rank card) in the specified subject.
i. Master’s degree in the respective or allied subject from any Institute/University accredited by ICAR, New Delhi.
ii. OGPA of 7.00/10.00 or equivalent OGPA/equivalent percentage of marks for general category and 6.50/10.00 or equivalent CGPA/equivalent percentage of marks for SC/ST/Category-I candidates at Masters’ degree level.
iii. The allied subjects for admission to the Doctoral degree programme in various disciplines of Veterinary, Animal, Dairy and Fisheries Sciences shall be notified by the University from time to time.
iv. Candidates must have appeared for the All India Competitive Examination for Admission to Doctoral Degree programme (AICEA-PhD) conducted by NTA-ICAR New Delhi in the academic year 2022-23 and produce a scorecard (Rank card) in the specified subject.

Large national manufacturing companies, such as Amul and Nestle, visit the campus for recruitment, and students are offered competitive pay packages.
