Krantiguru Shyamji Krishna Verma Kachchh University was established in 2003 and is named after Shyamji Krishna Verma of Mandvi, an eminent leader who encouraged the independence movement from outside India. Krantiguru Shyamji Krishna Verma Kachchh University is also known as Kachchh University. The university is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). To inspire students and provide them with a platform, Krantiguru Shyamji Krishna Verma Kachchh University also organises youth cultural and sports activities. More than 500 students participated in the Inter University cultural and Sports Activities organised by the Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi (AIU).
The university provides courses in the faculties of arts, commerce, science, education, law, technology, engineering, and pharmacy. There are 41 colleges affiliated with the Krantiguru Shyamji Krishna Verma Kachchh University, three of which are government-funded, six of which are provided help, and the remaining 32 are self-financed.
