Selection for the Manonmaniam Sundaranar University M.B.A., the programme is based on the TANCET entrance exam. On September 7, 1990, the Government of Tamil Nadu founded the Manonmaniam Sundaranar University as a teaching-cum-affiliating University for people of three southernmost districts of Tamil Nadu, namely Tirunelveli, Tenkasi, Thoothukudi, and Kanyakumari. It is named after Professor P. Sundaram Pillai (1855-1897), the author of the great poetry drama Manonmaniam.
