AFMC Pune offers a 5.5-year full-time MBBS programme which includes a one-year compulsory rotating internship training in selected service hospitals recognized by the National Medical Commission. The admission to the MBBS programme at AFMC Pune is based on the NEET scores, followed by a brief selection process consisting of an Interview and Medical Examination (AFMC CET) at the college.
Candidates must have passed class 12 with at least 60% marks in aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, with English as a compulsory subject. Additionally, candidates must be unmarried and medically fit as per the standards prescribed by the Government of India, Ministry of Defence. The minimum age requirement for candidates is 17 years on December 31, 2023, and they should not have attained the age of 24 years on the same date. The application process for MBBS admissions at Armed Forces Medical College Pune is expected to commence in September 2023 after the NEET is conducted. For Super Speciality and Postgraduate courses, applications are usually invited in July and September, respectively.
To secure admission into the MBBS programme at AFMC Pune, candidates must appear for the NEET UG exam conducted by NTA and also apply for AFMC Pune on the Medical Counselling Committee website during the NEET Counselling registration period. The admission process for these courses is based on the score obtained in the AFMC CET entrance exam and a personal interview.
Female candidates who have completed their class 12 with at least 50% marks in aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, and with English as a compulsory subject are eligible to apply for the B.Sc Nursing course. Female candidates who have completed their class 12 with a minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology with English as a compulsory subject, and possess a Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) or a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Nursing are eligible to apply for the AFMC Pune Post Basic B.Sc Nursing programme.
The Armed Forces Medical College B.Sc Nursing and PB B.Sc Nursing admissions are offered based on the candidate's scores in the AFMC CET exam and personal interview rounds. The institute will release an AFMC cut off 2024 to offer admissions to candidates this year.
AFMC Pune offers various courses including MD, MS, M.Sc, and MHA. The college provides full-time, three-year Master of Surgery (MS) and Doctor of Medicine (MD) programmes at the postgraduate level. A two-year, full-time M.Sc and Master of Hospital Administration (MHA) programme are also available at Armed Forces Medical College Pune along with the M.Ch and MDS programmes which are 5 to 6 and 3 years long respectively.
The Armed Forces Medical College Pune admission criteria for MD and MS include having an MBBS degree recognized by the Medical Council of India along with one-year Internship, while M.Sc requires completion of a B.Sc. degree in the relevant discipline from a recognized institute/university. For MHA, a bachelor's degree in any professional course from a recognized institute/university is required.
The selection criteria for MD and MS are based on the NEET PG score/merit plus personal interview, and the NEET PG counseling is conducted by the DGHS.
