Armed Forces Medical College Admissions 2024: The AFMC Pune application process for admission to its MBBS programme for the academic year 2024 is now open. The application process started on May 1, 2023, and the last date to apply is May 31, 2023. Aspirants can apply through the official website of Armed Forces Medical College by filling out the online application form and submitting the required documents. 

Armed Forces Medical College specializes in providing military-oriented education to medical and nursing students at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, guaranteeing job opportunities in the armed forces. The application for MBBS is expected to begin in September 2023 after the NEET exam. For Super Specialty and Postgraduate courses, applications are usually invited in July and September respectively. 

To be eligible for admission, candidates must have passed the Class 12 board examination or an equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English as mandatory subjects. Candidates must also have secured a minimum of 60% marks in each of these subjects and a minimum aggregate of 60% marks in the board examination. Candidates' scores in national-level entrance exams such as NEET UG, PG and SS are also taken into consideration during the selection process.

The AFMC admission process consists of two stages, the first being a computer-based test called the Armed Forces Medical College Entrance Exam (AFMC CET). Candidates who clear the CET will be called for the second stage, which includes a personal interview and medical examination.

AFMC Pune MBBS Eligibility Criteria 2024

AFMC Pune offers a 5.5-year full-time MBBS programme which includes a one-year compulsory rotating internship training in selected service hospitals recognized by the National Medical Commission. The admission to the MBBS programme at AFMC Pune is based on the NEET scores, followed by a brief selection process consisting of an Interview and Medical Examination (AFMC CET) at the college.

Candidates must have passed class 12 with at least 60% marks in aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, with English as a compulsory subject. Additionally, candidates must be unmarried and medically fit as per the standards prescribed by the Government of India, Ministry of Defence. The minimum age requirement for candidates is 17 years on December 31, 2023, and they should not have attained the age of 24 years on the same date. The application process for MBBS admissions at Armed Forces Medical College Pune is expected to commence in September 2023 after the NEET is conducted. For Super Speciality and Postgraduate courses, applications are usually invited in July and September, respectively.

Armed Forces Medical College Pune MBBS Selection Criteria 2024

To secure admission into the MBBS programme at AFMC Pune, candidates must appear for the NEET UG exam conducted by NTA and also apply for AFMC Pune on the Medical Counselling Committee website during the NEET Counselling registration period. The institute will receive the list of applicants on the last day of registration. The AFMC Pune merit list containing the roll numbers of the shortlisted candidates will be posted on the website. 

Around 1700 candidates (1380 boys and 360 girls) will be called for screening. The screening process includes a Test of English Language, Comprehension, Logic and Reasoning (ToELR) for 80 marks, a Psychological Assessment Test (PAT), a 50 marks Interview, and a qualifying Medical Examination. The final Armed Forces Medical College Pune cut off list of successful candidates will be based on the total score obtained in the written examination and interview marks. The final merit list will be published on the official website of AFMC Pune and the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). The PAT score is only for qualification purposes and will not be taken into account for the merit list.

AFMC B.Sc and PB B.Sc Nursing Eligibility Criteria 2024

The Armed Forces Medical College Pune provides B.Sc (Hons) Nursing and Post Basic B.Sc (Nursing) courses at the undergraduate level. The duration of the B.Sc (Hons) Nursing course is four years and that of Post Basic B.Sc (Nursing) is two years. The admission process for these courses is based on the score obtained in the AFMC CET entrance exam and a personal interview.

Female candidates who have completed their class 12 with at least 50% marks in aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, and with English as a compulsory subject are eligible to apply for the B.Sc Nursing course. Female candidates who have completed their class 12 with a minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology with English as a compulsory subject, and possess a Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) or a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Nursing are eligible to apply for the AFMC Pune Post Basic B.Sc Nursing programme.

AFMC Pune B.Sc and PB B.Sc Nursing Selection Criteria 2024

The Armed Forces Medical College B.Sc Nursing and PB B.Sc Nursing admissions are offered based on the candidate's scores in the AFMC CET exam and personal interview rounds. The institute will release an AFMC cut off 2024 to offer admissions to candidates this year.

Armed Forces Medical College Pune PG Eligibility Criteria 2024

AFMC Pune offers various courses including MD, MS, M.Sc, and MHA. The college provides full-time, three-year Master of Surgery (MS) and Doctor of Medicine (MD) programmes at the postgraduate level. A two-year, full-time M.Sc and Master of Hospital Administration (MHA) programme are also available at Armed Forces Medical College Pune along with the M.Ch and MDS programmes which are 5 to 6 and 3 years long respectively.

The Armed Forces Medical College Pune admission criteria for MD and MS include having an MBBS degree recognized by the Medical Council of India along with one-year Internship, while M.Sc requires completion of a B.Sc. degree in the relevant discipline from a recognized institute/university. For MHA, a bachelor's degree in any professional course from a recognized institute/university is required. 

The selection criteria for MD and MS are based on the NEET PG score/merit plus personal interview, and the NEET PG counseling is conducted by the DGHS. Selection criteria for MD, MS, and M.Ch is through NEET PG score/merit along with GD PI, while for M.Sc, it is based on academic qualifications. Armed Forces Medical College cutoff 2024 for MBBS course is yet to be released. It will be released during the MCC counselling for which the registration will start on August 14, 2024. According to the expected AFMC Pune cutoff 2024, the MBBS course cutoff for the general category will stay between 164 and 720 marks. So with 500+ marks, you may stand a chance to get admission in 2024. You must apply for the counselling process with your NEET score to get a seat at AFMC Pune in 2024.

You did not mention the course for which you wish to know the age limit of admission at AFMC Pune. For the MBBS course which is the most popular course of the college, the age limit is 17 minimum and 24 maximum. For the BSc Nursing course, the minimum age required for admission is 17 years while there is no cap on maximum age. AFMC Pune offers Bachelor of Paramedical Technology (BPMT) in 11 specializations, which are Laboratory Technician, Radiographic Technician, Radiotherapy Technician, Cardio Technician, Neuro Technician, Blood Transfusion Technician, Optometry Technician, Perfusionist, Operation Theatre Technician, Endoscopy Technician, and Community Medicine/Health Inspector/Emergency Medical Services. The minimum eligibility criteria for the BPMT course is 50% in class 12, and you achieved 89%, so you are eligible. Since you are eligible, you can apply for admission. Selectoioiomn will be done according to AMC record. It means the medical officers of the Indian Army can train here. AFMC Pune does not have any scholarships for BPMT courses.

The Armed Forces Medical College course list does not offer an MMLT course at the PG level. After completing BMLT, you can opt for MSc and PG Diploma courses in the medical field. If you are interested in getting admission to the AFMC Pune then you can opt for the Post Graduate Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technician course. The intake for this course is 30 students. You can get admission after completing BMLT and the selection is based on AMC records of the Indian Army.
