About AIIMS Bhopal
All India Institute of Medical Sciences Bhopal, popularly known as AIIMS Bhopal, is a public autonomous body for medical education and research. The institute has obtained the status of the ‘Institute of National Importance’ and is located at Saket Nagar, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, India. AIIMS Bhopal was established by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojna (PMSSY). The institution is approved by the National Medical Commission (NMC), erstwhile the Medical Council of India (MCI). AIIMS Bhopal has been ranked 38th in the medical category in the NIRF Ranking List 2023. Last year, it was not among the first 100 colleges in the medical category.
In 2004, the Government of India decided to establish a new AIIMS at Rishikesh, Bhopal, Patna, Jodhpur, Bhubaneswar, and Raipur. Although the announcement was made in 2003 during Atal Bihari Vajpayee's tenure, the project was delayed due to a power outage at the facility. The AIIMS Bhopal campus launched its first Department of Education, Community Medicine, and Family Medicine (CFM) in September 2012, formed the Institute Body (IB) in July 2013, and began graduation courses in January 2017.

AIIMS Bhopal Courses and Admission 2024
At the UG level, AIIMS Bhopal offers MBBS and B.Sc (Nursing) with 100 and 60 seats, respectively. The institute offers MD/MS and DM/M.Ch postgraduate courses in a wide range of disciplines including pathology, psychiatry, paediatrics, and pharmacology. AIIMS Bhopal courses also include PhD in five specialisations, namely microbiology, neurology, biochemistry, paediatrics, and FMT. In addition, the centre provides PDCC in four different categories, namely essential care, sleep medicine, dermatopathology, and infectious diseases for postdoctoral students.

Spread across a sprawling area of 143 acres, the AIIMS Bhopal campus is easily accessible from the Raja Bhoj Airport and Habibganj Railway Station. The campus has all necessary academic, research, and non-academic facilities so that students can get a fulfilling experience on the AIIMS Bhopal campus. The list of AIIMS Bhopal facilities includes a central library, six hostels, an auditorium, indoor sports facilities, laboratories, etc.
Central Library - The AIIMS Bhopal central library is a future-ready library with both conventional and digital resources. Students can access the library both on-site and off-site all around the year. The AIIMs library building is spread over three floors with a seating capacity of more than 250 students. Moreover, the library has an impressive collection of books, journals, and other learning resources to create a perfect ambience for learning outside the classroom.
Hostel - The AIIMS Bhopal campus offers hostel accommodation to both male and female students. It has a total of six AIIMS Bhopal hostels - MBBS UG Boys Hostel, MBBS UG Girls Hostel, PG Hostel (Boys) B & C Wing, PG Hostel (Girls) A Wing, Girls Hostel (A & B Wing), and Girls Hostel (C Wing). The hostels have mess facilities, and students can enjoy four meals a day at the hostel mess. There is a common room on each floor of the hostels. The common rooms are equipped with televisions and wifi facilities.
Auditorium - The AIIMS Bhopal campus has an auditorium with impressive architecture. It is octagonal in shape with a viewer's gallery with a seating capacity of 1,000 seats. An open-air amphitheatre adjoins the auditorium for open-air events.
