Baselius College Campus Facilities - Hostel Fees, Infrastructure, Address

The campus is made vibrant by several co-curricular and extracurricular activities. There are subject associations in all departments, clubs to promote artistic talents of students, tutorial system to facilitate greater inter-personal interaction and relationship, NSS units to strengthen the sense of national integration and social commitment, NCC battalion to inculcate a sense of discipline and national defence, and above all a unit of the MGOCSM to nurture and nourish the spiritual needs of the students. There is also a full-fledged computer center which imparts basic training to our students. The Audio-Visual Centre facilitates educational sessions through different packages. A well equipped Language Laboratory with the latest software in Communicative Skills and Personality Development provides specialized training to students.

WOMENS HOSTEL

A long cherished dream of the Institution, the construction of a Women's Hostel, has now become a reality. The UGC sponsored Hostel can house around 100 girl students and it started functioning from 4th June 2012. The two new floors recently built over the present instrumentation block will solve much of our space constraints.

Women's Forum functions on the campus with a view to promoting women empowerment. It is open to all women students of the college. It organizes discussions, seminars and awareness programs focusing mainly on women?s issues and needs in tune with the times. A diploma course in? home living education? is conducted by the forum. Lectures and practical sessions are arranged in embroidery, fabric painting, cooking, beauty tips, flower arrangement and pre-marital counseling, by experts in relevant fields. Girl students are also given two wheeler driving lessons.

This is yet another unique venture of our College. The members continue the work of the good Samaritan by donating blood and they save precious human lives and keep the dignity of the human race. All the members of the Baselius Family can join the Club and express their solidarity with the suffering humanity. The club members are greatly inspired by its founder president Rev. Fr. P. M. Cherian who looked after the affairs of the Club from 1968 to 1997 when he retired from the Department of English.

In order to promote fruitful co-operation among the male members of the faculty and the student community of Baselius College, a Men's Forum has been introduced. This forum plans beneficial activities for men through seminars, discussions etc. in which issues and problems faced by men can be widely addressed.

National Cadet Corps, the biggest youth organization is functioning under the Ministry of Defence, Govt. of India. It inculcates discipline and sense of unity and patriotism in youth and trains in defense preparedness. It also aims at the development of leadership, character, and comradeship among the youth. The Central and State Govts. are giving a number of incentives including weighting for education, job reservation etc. for N.C.C. cadets.

The college has a company of 108 Cadets under 16 Kerala Bn. NCC and is commanded by Lt. Dr. Biju Thomas, Dept. of Physical Education. The students who get enrolled can attain 'B' and 'C' certificates after a service of two and three years respectively.

To promote respect for labour, discipline, Gandhian principles, national integration and work culture, we have at present 3 NSS units in our college. They are now very ably guided and properly directed by two Programme Officers - Prof. Sarath P. Nath and Prof. Arabhi P. The NSS is a cradle for leadership training and for learning the fundamentals of group dynamics. So, by joining  NSS, every student ensures success in life and personality development. Due weightage is also given to its volunteers in future programs of study and job placements.
