BIT Mesra Admission 2025 - Dates, Form, Online Process, Fees

Birla Institute of Technology (BIT) Mesra offers a variety of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. BTech, MBA, MCA, MSc, and other courses are among the BIT Mesra most popular. BIT Mesra admission process varies by course. For some courses, the university holds entrance exams on campus, while admission to various courses is based on merit as well. BIT Mesra accepts scores from national-level exams such as JEE Main, JEE Advanced, GATE, CAT, NEET-UG, and more. Candidates can apply online for admission to the desired course at BIT Mesra.

BIT Mesra provides MTech, MSc, MBA, and MCA programmes at the postgraduate level. The MTech, MSc, and MBA programmes require valid national entrance examination scores. Furthermore, MCA candidates must appear for the university entrance exam i.e. BIT MCA. To apply for BIT Mesra admission, candidates must complete the application form for the course they wish to apply for. For entrance-based admission, after passing the entrance exam, candidates are shortlisted for a specific course and asked to select which streams they wish to enrol in. Then, based on the availability of seats and the candidate's performance in the previous qualifying exam, the Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra entrance exam (such as MBA, MCA, BTech, MTech), and a personal interview, they are granted BIT Mesra admission. 

BIT Mesra Selection Criteria for UG Courses

• BTech - Candidates must first qualify for the JEE Mains, which is followed by JoSAA counselling.
• B.Arch. - Candidates must first pass NATA or JEE Mains (paper 2) and qualify for JoSAA counselling.
• BPharm - Candidates must qualify for JEE Mains or NEET UG.
• BHMCT - Candidates must qualify for the interview round and clear it.
• BBA and BCA - Candidates must have completed Class 12th or equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/PwD) and English as a subject.
• BSc - Selection will be based on the 12th score PCM with a minimum score of 60%. Josaa Counselling assigns colleges based on their JEE Mains rankings.   

BIT Mesra Selection Criteria for PG Courses

• MTech: The GATE or entrance exam must be passed by the candidate.
• MPharm: Applicants need to get a valid GPAT score.
• M.Sc. (Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Biotechnology, Geo-Informatics Programmes): Applicants must meet the criteria for the JAM/CUET score.
• Master of Business Administration (MBA): Candidates are selected based on their CAT/XAT/MAT/CMAT scores, followed by a GD and PI.
• Master of Computer Application (MCA): Selection is based on BIT MCA results, followed by an interview.
• MUP: Candidates need to clear GATE to be selected for MUP.

• The application fees for BIT Mesra are subject to change based on the course. Please make payment in cash, cheque or demand draft made payable to "BIT Mesra".
• Additionally, candidates can pay online with net banking, credit/debit cards, or both.
• The candidates will be contacted by the admissions team to inform them of the requirements for your course after they submit their BIT Mesra application.
• Those applying for an entrance-based course must first take and pass the exam, then go through the counselling process.
• The department sends an enrollment letter to applicants who satisfy the requirements.
