About Dr C.V Raman University Bilaspur
Dr C.V Raman University Bilaspur is an Institution of higher learning located in Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh. The university was established by the All-India Society for Electronics and Computer Technology (AISECT) on November 3, 2006. It is the first private university in Chhattisgarh. The university is named after a renowned Indian physicist and Nobel Laureate, who was also the first president and founding member of the Indian Institutes of Sciences, Dr. C.V. Raman. The university offers many study options for students looking to pursue higher education in the fields of science, engineering, humanities, commerce, journalism, management, law studies, etc. Dr C.V Raman University Bilaspur offers diplomas, undergraduate (UG), postgraduate (PG), doctorate (PhD), and short-term courses in various fields. The university offers skill courses offered by PMKK.
It is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the Bar Council of India (BCI). It has the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) grading of “B+” and functions under the AISECT Group of Universities. The Dr. C.V. Raman University Bilaspur campus is spread across 55 acres. The campus is well-equipped with all the necessary academic and non-academic facilities to promote holistic growth in the students.
Library – With an extensive collection of books, journals, and reference materials, Shri J.P Choubey Central Library or the Dr. C.V. Raman University Bilaspur Central Library is at the university's core of learning and research. It is a space for academic and intellectual bonding. It has approximately 50,000 books with 10,000 titles, thousands of materials, journals of repute, reports, and magazines. Along with the Central Library, departmental libraries also help students access subject-specific materials.
Research Centre – The university has a designated research cell, and a conference hall set up in a separate building. It is well-equipped with the latest gadgets and tools required to foster an active research environment. Besides the research hall, it also has a conference hall that has a smart projector, and video conferencing facilities that are used to have conferences and seminars virtually as well as offline.

These CVRU Bilaspur scholarships help students in pursuing a field of their interest by providing economic support however possible. There are three specific types of scholarships that students get access to at Dr. C.V. Raman University Bilaspur.
1. Scholarship for Underprivileged- This can be availed by students belonging to the SC/ST/OBC communities. For OBC students, they have to have an annual income below Rs 1 Lakh. For SC/STs, the income has to be below Rs 2 lakh for them to be eligible for this scholarship.
2. Scholarship for Meritorious Students- This scholarship is meant for students who have scored 85% and above in their Class 12 board examinations. The scholarship will be meted out either in bulk or in instalments at the beginning of each semester. There are extra provisions for students from economically backward sections as well.
3. Scholarship Programme for ME/MTech Students – MHRD grants a sum of Rs 8000 to students who have cleared the GATE examinations to promote postgraduation studies in India. The scholarship aims to help them fund their research and thesis work.
Apart from these scholarships, the university has also set up a support system that provides students with loan facilities by partnering with banks like the State Bank of India, Bank of India, Punjab National Bank, etc. Loan facilities are available for students for up to Rs 4 Lakhs with no processing fees, additional costs, or guarantee documents.
