Guru Nanak College is affiliated to the University of Madras and is located on the Velachery-Tambaram road within a flourishing 22-acre campus gifted by the government of Tamil Nadu for the establishment of an Arts & Science College. The college provides excellent hostel facilities comprising of 50 rooms and a capacity of 100. There is a fully stocked vast library inside the college named after Maharani Vidyavathi Devi, which provides a peaceful environment to the students. There are various associations in the college for promoting extra-curricular activities among students. College alumni association comprises of all the former students of the college. The goal of the association is to promote the growth and welfare of the Alma Mater of the members. All the old students of this college enroll himself/ herself as a member of the Association. Rotract club was formed for the development of leadership qualities, administrative talents, and organizational skills of the students. The Youth Red Cross Unit a social service avenue in the college for the students who are interested in the betterment of society. The college has a Hostel Building, to cater the need of the limited number of boys only. The building is named as the Punjab Block for it was inaugurated by the Punjab Ex-Chief Minister Sardar Gurnam Singh in April, 1973. There are Students from three to four states of India living together with a large number of TamilNadu and thus foster regional understandings, national unity and communal harmony. The warden is the Ex-offico Principal of the college and a college staff acts as a deputy warden to oversee the day to day functioning of the hostel.

A Medical Officer, Dr. Babu Ganesh is available to attend the ill health students. Periodical health checkups are made for all the students. First aid kit is available in the hostel and also with the Departments of Physical Education, Adv. Zoology and Chemistry which is useful to take care of minor injuries and ailments.

NSS Unit received Shield Award from “Association of Voluntary Blood Donors”, Adyar, Chennai, for mobilising 200 units of Blood
A “Blood Donation Camp” was organised by NSS on 29th January 2016 where 500 units of Blood were mobilised by the NSS volunteers highlighting the need to serve mankind.NSS of Guru Nanak College and Corporation Bank collaboratively organised “Blood Donation Camp” on 24th February 2016 where Dr.M.Selvaraj, Principal stressed on the importance and benefits of donating blood.
The Rotaract Club of Guru Nanak College unfolded its Installation function with lectures on “Positive thinking is the key to success” on 8th February 2016 headed by Rtn.K.Ravi, President, Rotary Club of Madras Marina and Dr.C.N.Eswari, Associate Prof. Head, Dept. of English, Guru Nanak College.
A Lecture on “Self-Actualisation for Self-Reliance” was organised by the Rotaract Club on 13th February 2016 and Dr. L.R.S. Kalanithi, Associate Professor, Department of English, Guru Nanak College, was the resource person.On27th February 2016 an elucidative “Orientation for students to Face Interviews – Project Triumph” was organised by Rotaract Club of Guru Nanak College and Rotaract Club of Ambattur synergistically. On March 12th 2016, the Valedictory function was held.Mr.C.P. Subramaniam, Asst. Head Master, Savithriammal Oriental Hr.Sec. School, Mylapore, Chennai was the Chief Guest and Dr.C.N.Eswari, Associate Prof. Head, Dept. of English, Guru Nanak College was the Guest of Honour. 150 students activelyparticipated.

Students with cultural talents can enroll as members of this association and organise cultural events with college programmes
Students concerned about environment and ecology can become members of this club and do their little service in this direction.
Hostel: Hostels were average. The food quality was better. There were no unique facilities in the hostels. Medical facilities were available 24X7 with a charge of Rs 500 every time.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is well developed for the students may it be the transport or buildings. Each block is equipped with proper labs and libraries and also has the security guards all around for the safety of the students. Each lab has all the items required in order to perform the desired task.
Hostel: there are clean rooms and washrooms are also clean management is good Food is also tasty For hostel people there are so many functions celebrated for there enjoyment
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi, laboratories, big classrooms with projectors in each class, libraries, etc. are there. The quality of food is amazing in our college canteen. We have good ground. And we play badminton, cricket and various other games
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is good, with the best classroom and a big library with lots of books and proper seating arrangements. it's really good because we get all the facilities
Hostel: The hostel facilities are very good initially but now they are not giving full focus on complaints, but they try their best to resolve our problems. Mess food is average in taste.
Infrastructure: The building is good. It is huge and there are several blocks in the university. They are properly named with proper space and classrooms. There are washrooms in each floor.
Hostel: The college is expensive but it's worth the money for the most part. It can be difficult for most people to afford it. They give nice rooms for boys & Girls

Hostel: Hostel facility is good and neat. Different variety of food items and snacks are served in our college. Classrooms are good. Medical facilities are available 24 hours. Our college has a library that consists of all types of books for all the courses.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure was good including mess library play grounds for each and every activities the mess containing ACs and proper arrangements for sitting
