The North Bengal University Siliguri provides several scholarship programmes to its students. The university also provides financial assistance to socially and financially deprived students and provides fellowships and award programmes to its students. The university provides the NBU Siliguri Scholarships to undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctorate students with financial assistance and awards. 

The following are some of the scholarships at the North Bengal University Siliguri -

• Swami Vivekananda Merit-cum-Means Scholarships Scheme –

The Swami Vivekananda Merit-cum-Means Scholarship is to helps students have an annual family income of less than Rs 2,50,000. This scholarship helps the students get higher education in West Bengal.

The eligibility of the Swami Vivekananda Merit-cum-Means Scholarship Schemes is as follows-

1. The student must have at least 60% marks in the last qualifying examination.
2. Should have an annual family income of Rs 2,50,000
3. The student must be a resident of West Bengal.
4. Should not have applied in any other Govt. Scholarships.

The Swami Vivekananda Merit-cum-Means Scholarships Scheme provides scholarships at educational institutions based in West Bengal.

• Shri Dorilal Agarwal National Meritorious Scholarship for Physically Challenged students –

The Shri Dorilal Agarwal National Meritorious Scholarship is provided for the physically challenged students studying at the NBU Siliguri. This NBU scholarship is given to students pursuing BBA/ BCA/ B. tech./ MBA/ MCA/ M.D./ MS courses.

The Shri Dorilal Agarwal National Meritorious Scholarship eligibility for physically challenged students is as follows –

1. The physically challenged students can be eligible for the scholarship.
2. The student must be worthy, that is, he should be good in his studies.
3. The students studying in BBA/ BCA/ MBA/ MBBS/ MCA can be eligible for the scholarship.

• Kanyashree Prakalpa (Kanyashree-III) -

The Kanyashree Prakalpa scholarship is provided to girls studying postgraduate courses. This scholarship is a sub-scheme under the Swami Vivekananda Merit-cum-Means scholarship scheme. There is no need for family income information in North Bengal University Siliguri Scholarship.

The eligibility for the Kanyashree Prakalpa scholarship is as follows –

1. Only girl students studying in West Bengal are eligible for the Kanyashree Prakalpa Scholarship.
2. The student must have passed the bachelor's with a minimum of 45% aggregate marks from any recognised institute in West Bengal.
3. The student must be a resident of West Bengal.
4. Should not have applied in any other Govt. Scholarships.

The NBU Siliguri provides more than 80 courses to the students. The courses are provided to students in more than 30 departments in the NBU Siliguri. North Bengal University PG courses are popular among the students of West Bengal. The courses offered are anthropology, biotechnology, botany, bioinformatics, geology, chemistry, physics, zoology, mathematics, economics, education, history, law, mass communication, Nepali, and Bengali. 

North Bengal University Siliguri Courses and Eligibility Criteria 

Since its establishment, the UGC-HRDC, NBU in Siliguri has successfully hosted 102 refresher courses, 41 orientation programmes, and 24 workshops (ranging in length from 2 to 7 days). A three-air-conditioned bright lecture room is one of the HRDC facilities at North Bengal University that supports the hybrid teaching-learning model. A seminar room/computer lab with 30 computers and microphones makes it possible to conduct practical training programmes.

The participants can use the Central library's physical books (2500+), e-books, journals, and online resources. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the UGC-HRDC at NBU launched online training programmes per UGC regulations, and the teaching community all over the nation has reacted favourably.

Quality postgraduate courses are offered in seven subjects by the University of North Bengal (NBU) through the Center for Distance and Online Education, including the MA in English, Bengali, Nepali, philosophy, political science, and history, as well as the MA/M.Sc in mathematics. There are also undergraduate BA and B.Com courses available. Students of any age and location can take these courses conveniently from their own homes. Below are the steps you need to follow to download the NBU admit card 2022:

Step 1: Visit the North Bengal University official website.

Step 2: Go to the “Exam and Results” tab.

Step 3: Click on the notification that mentions the admit card for your course. 

Step 4: You will now be taken to a different portal where you will have to enter the details of your registration id, course name, department and other information.

Step 5: Fill in the details and click on the download admit card.

Steps to check North Bengal University Result 2022: 

Step 1: Visit the North Bengal University official website.

Step 2: Go to the “Exam and Results” tab.

Step 3: On your left side of the screen, there will be a button that says “All Exams & Results Notifications”. Click on it.

Step 4: Find the notification that mentions your semester and course. 

Step 5: Fill in the details and click on view/download your result.
