Overall: I joined this college through Anna university TNEA counselling after seeing newspaper ads of IFET engg college rankings and 100% placements which turned out to be false. There will be banners with photos of students placed in the entrance of college which is fake and to trap students to boost admissions. All this 93% placed, 99% passed is humbug. So I cancelled my admission from this useless and aimless engg college and joined in SRM University, Chennai which is the right place for my ambitions and achieving my goals of high standards and excellence in life.

So I cancelled my admission from this useless and aimless engg college and joined in SRM University, Chennai which is the right place for my ambitions and achieving my goals of high standards and excellence in life. Course Curriculum & Exam Structure – it is as per Anna University, but staff will ask to mug up everything like in schools. There is no thinking ability. After studying here you may get certificate but no job. They will conduct tests everyday and write imposition assignments. The teaching staff are people who did not get job after completing Engineering and ended up here. They are not so knowledgeable in subject matters and suffer from poor English communication. The management asks its staff to be strict towards students like in schools to get more marks in exams even though they don’t to teach, so that they can demand more money when students join next year. So I cancelled my admission from this useless and aimless engg college and joined in SRM University, Chennai which is the right place for my ambitions and achieving my goals of high standards and excellence in life. Placement is very pathetic. There will be banners with photos of students placed in the entrance of college which is fake and to trap students to boost admissions. All this 93% placed, 99% passed is humbug. Students here get menial jobs as Insurance/mutual fund agents but college will tell they are placed in reputed banks. Some students ended up as helper technicians and service boys in small firms and washing machine service shops. Others joined as Web developers in IT start up or Internet Browsing Centers started by same college seniors in the name of business entrepreneurship. This is not placement but Dis-placement and ruining your life after studying engineering from unknown/infamous colleges. Near by colleges Mailam Engg college and Manakular Vinayagar Engg college have TCS, Wipro, Infosys, HCL accredition but this college has nothing. Dont study here to become Swiggy guy or internet cafe helper. Only study, study, study and mug up everything from question banks of past question papers. Write, write write assignments and impositions. Events are for namesake to attract next years students to show all is ok for students inside. We are treated like circus animals to do what staff say. Apart from tuition fee, there is all types of fee like hostel fee, mess fee, exam fee, caution deposit, Graduation fee, Convocation Gown dress fee, book fee, library fee, damage fee, late fee, fine, breakage fee, internet fee, bus fee and lastly Placement fees but no Placements at all. Near by colleges Mailam Engg college and Manakular Vinayagar Engg college have TCS, Wipro, Infosys, HCL accredition but this college has nothing. Management will not return fee at any cost if you dont want bus or hostel facility. Hostel facilities is worst. Salty water for bathing. No proper toilets privacy. Food is like roadside eatery. Only steel cots and old beds like in govt hospitals. Every now and then they will collect high breakage from all guys if any things get damaged. No movies/entertainment/Non-veg during weekends. Internet is to be used for academic purpose only no movies or facebook etc. Generally other students who joined here are of very low quality like just 35% pass marks. I am from Chennai City and felt like I ended up in a backward village (Gangarampalayam) that has no scope for opportunities, facilities, entertainment and knowledge. For my ambitions, my lifestyle, my fashion sense and my knowledge this college environment is very backward. Students here have no ambition other than becoming some kind of labour, where as I want to study in IIM or US Universities. Students here in this college are so backward that they don’t know what is IIM-CAT, GRE, TOEFL, IELTS etc. They will make fun of me for studying and being advanced. Seniors are working in swiggy, service boys and helpers. They did not get job, but have to repay loan.
