IIM Bangalore Campus & Infrastructure

The IIMs are set of such institutions that not only attracts students for a better academic and career perspective but also captures the attention of the students with their splendid piece of architecture and infrastructure. The same is the case with Indian Institute of Management Bangalore Campus that spreads across 100 acres of land with a lush green surrounding and its all-stone architecture to attract students and force them to study in this amazing institution. The sole aim of the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore is to serve students with best of everything, so that, they may grow in the best environment and pop out to show their best to the world outside the campus.

Starting with the classrooms and the library which is the essence of any educational institution, IIM Bangalore has proven the fact that both comfort and technology can ease the academic stress of the students. Both, when combined together, can work for the betterment of the students trying to work hard and achieve their desired goals. The smart class system adopted by IIM Bangalore says all about how positive the institution can be when it comes to dissemination of knowledge in an interesting and soothing way. Along with the classrooms, auditoriums, conference rooms, common rooms, etc are also present within the academic blocks of the institution.

The Library and the computer lab, on the other hand, are a perfect example of a combination of technology and knowledge. The library consists of more than a thousand book, journals, periodicals, reference materials, CDs and cassettes. The availability of internet and intranet in the library helps students to carve more information related to their academic needs. The spacious library can accommodate more than 100 students at a time and yet have room for more. The clean and calm environment helps students to concentrate on their books extract knowledge. The computer lab, on the other hand, is laced with the latest software and operating systems to give the best experience to the students using the lab. All the computers are well checked and updated at regular intervals so that no obstruction could stop students from acquiring knowledge.

Apart from these, the institution also provides hostel facilities for the student's details of which can be acquired from the concerned authorities as the provision of hostels may be set on a number of parameters and requirements. It is also to note that the entire campus is a secure and safe place for students as the campus runs under 24*7 security surveillance.

• Accommodation at IIMB consists of 10 hostel blocks, one executive block and the executive accommodation at the Management Development Center, popularly known as MDC.
• All students are provided with accommodation on campus in well-appointed single room in the hostels.
• Twenty-four hour Internet connectivity, fully automatic washing machines, music room, and recreation room are standard features.
• Laundry and ironing services are also provided.
• The hostels also have intercom facility, which is linked to the institute intercom.
• There is also a student-run library, music club and store in the hostel premises.

IIMB has excellent accommodation for executives participating in various executive education programs which are held at the Management Development Center. In addition to the existing facilities, new accommodation facilities are coming up for executives attending various programs. The institute provides guest room facility for visitors. Dining and canteen facilities are provided for each type of accommodation within the accommodation premisesWe believe in the aphorism ‘Healthy minds dwell in healthy bodies’ and to that end students are encouraged to use the sports facilities available on the campus. A state-of-the-art gymnasium, a football/cricket ground, an indoor badminton court, a jogger’s park and two courts for the favorite local sport tsepak ball are provided on campus.

Adventure Club -

Anveshan, the adventure and mountaineering club of IIMB, helps students stay connected with nature, and enjoy a much-deserved break once in a while. The club organizes trekking and hiking expeditions, camping, rock climbing, rappelling, white water rafting, kayaking, cycling, bike trips and night safaris in Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu.

Music Club -

Dhwani aims to get the best of campus musicians to practise together and perform as frequently as possible. The club puts up concerts of blues, rock, metal, alternative music genres, Indian movie and album music, folk music, electronic music and various forms of fusion music, except pure Carnatic and Hindustani classical music.

Drama Club -

The Dramatics Club is a forum for all enthusiasts of drama to get together and promote the spirit of theatre on campus. It provides the perfect forum to perform and appreciate plays. The Dramatics Club also organizes workshops and prepares teams to represent IIMB at various theatre festivals and competitions across the country.

Photography Club -

Dress Circle is the film and photography club of IIMB. Apart from organizing movie and sports event screenings, the club tries to tap the talents of individuals in short films, photography and ad films.

Entrepreneurship Club -

The EnI Cell nurtures entrepreneurial talent in the IIMB Community. It works in co-ordination with NSRCEL and has co-hosted events such as a ‘Sharktank’ to nudge students into exploring their entrepreneurial dreams.

Nature Club -

The Environment and Sustainability Society aims to provide a platform for interaction and action in the fields of environment, clean energy and sustainable development. The society is pursuing initiatives such as campus greening activities and sustainability report, formation of green network of campuses, and providing students with exposure to green economy.

Marketing Club -

MaSh aims to provide students an all-round experience of marketing through industry exposure and on-campus activities.  The club releases its marketing digest – ‘Panache’ – every term. It hosts workshops where industry titans share experiences with students and events such as ‘War of Sections’, ‘Mercadeo’ and more.

Finance Club -

Networth, the finance club, organizes Animal Spirits – the Finance Championship which is a series of five high-energy, inter-section, intensely contested competitions for first-year students of the programme. The club also partners with the Forum for Industrial Interaction to conduct Finance competitions at ‘Vista’, IIMB’s annual B-school fest. Networth also helps interested companies to conduct workshops, seminars and panel discussions on campus. Networth releases a Weekly Business Digest; ‘Deal-Fix’ – a fortnightly release that captures current M&A, PE/VC investments as well as latest capital market offerings across the world; and Fin Fast Track – a guide to the latest happenings in the world of finance over the past year. Networth hosts ‘gyaan’ sessions on topics relating to finance and conducts mock Interviews for summers.

Systems Club -

SIGMA, the Systems club at IIMB, is the focal point for IT-related activities. It acts as an intermediary between the students and the administration for all system infrastructure needs. SIGMA facilitates schemes such as the Pan-IIM laptop deal, the Peripheral deal and the Microsoft Windows and Office deal. SIGMA creates and maintains Spidi, the intranet portal for all student-related activities and student bodies on campus. In addition to Spidi, SIGMA helps various clubs such as PlaceCom in the placement process and Academic Council for the course-bidding process. SIGMA also conducts a LAN gaming event called ‘AdrenaLAN’, to encourage students interested in games such as Need For Speed, Counter Strike, Age of Empires and FIFA.

Cultural Club -

SPIC MACAY IIMB organizes classical music and dance concerts throughout the year, including the flagship event ‘Yamini’, a dusk-to-dawn concert held on the eve of Republic Day. SPIC MACAY IIMB also conducts a variety of classical music classes – violin, Carnatic and Hindustani vocal music – throughout the year. With a deep interest in promoting the arts, the club also conducts workshops on appreciating painting, weaving, sculpture and theatre. SPIC MACAY IIMB works in collaboration with SPIC MACAY Bangalore chapter to conduct these events.
